When it comes to getting the best football odds, you have to avoid the obvious choices and see the surprise that no one else can see coming. If you can read the form book, and know what’s happening behind the scenes, then you can bet big and win big.

This is a great weekend for potential upsets, because next week is the Champions League, so expect big clubs in Europe to rest players and maybe take their eye off the ball – a few upsets may be on the cards.

Juventus versus Palermo is a prime candidate for a surprising result. Palermo have the young and hungry strike force in Dybala and Vasquez. As Palermo are last in the league, they have nothing to lose and everything to prove. With the Juventus line-up uncertain, we expect Palermo to score several goals. If Tevez plays, he will probably score, although he is currently carrying a slight injury and may be rested. That will leave it up to Morata to help Juve move closer to the Seria A title.

In the Premier League, Aston Villa are playing Tottenham away. Spurs have been in great form recently, mainly due to Harry Kane’s heroics, but we think a few surprises might be in store. Christian Benteke has scored four goals just this week, including a hat trick against QPR. Benteke is on fire and Villa are desperate for points. Spurs like to play high up the pitch and Villa love to counter attack, so we think that Villa may produce a shock upset, with Benteke the primary candidate to get the goals.
