Bologna vs Torino
Bologna rode their luck and frustrated a blunt Roma side at the Olimpico while Torino beat Atalanta despite being outplayed for long spells as both sides all but secure Serie A football for another term. Just two points separate these teams and I reckon the visitors can hold out for a draw.
Carpi vs Genoa
Carpi were minutes away from securing a crucial point on their travels to Chievo but their efforts were undone by a late strike from veteran Pellissier while Genoa surprisingly beat an in form Sassuolo at the Mapei stadium. Close game expected but I reckon the visitors can win this.
Inter vs Napoli
Looking back Inter will be kicking themselves for dropping so many silly points this season, which could ultimately cost them third place. Mancini’s side are caught between a rock and hard place when Napoli visit the San Siro on Saturday night as a win will help their slim chances of third place but will also all but secure the 5th consecutive Scudetto for arch rivals Juventus. Napoli go into the game without front man Higuain still serving a suspension for some naughty behaviour a few weeks ago. I expect a thrilling score draw.
Atalanta vs Roma
With eight points dividing Atalanta from the bottom three they will feel safe from the drop but I am sure would prefer to add a few more points to their name in the last few weeks of football while Roma remain six points clear in third place after being held by Bologna in Rome. Spalletti’s side looked sluggish on Monday evening but I predict an away win for them.
Fiorentina vs Sassuolo
Fiorentina lost on their travels to Empoli in what was only the home side’s second win of the 2016 as La Viola all but fall out of the race for third place. Sassuolo’s Europa League prospects took a slight dent on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten at home by Genoa despite dominating possession. This is a must win for the home side.
Verona vs Frosinone
Languishing six points at the bottom Verona were pummeled on their travels to Naples as the side from Veneto look all but certain to be playing Serie B football next term. Frosinone could be joining Delneri’s men as they were beaten by Inter at home however a few points can easily change the Roman’s fortunes. Close one to call but I predict an away win.
Juventus vs Palermo
Juventus’ second half domination proved too much for a struggling Milan side which saw the reigning champions maintain their six point lead at the top and also the end of Mihajlovic’s stint in charge of the Rossoneri. Palermo were pummeled in Sicily by a superior Lazio side meaning they remain among the bottom three.
Udinese vs Chievo
Sitting just six points above the relegation zone Udinese are having a season to forget especially when compared to the side that use to give all the big guns a run for their money just a couple of seasons back. Chievo beat strugglers Carpi to maintain their slim chances of Europa League football next season. I predict a draw.
Lazio vs Empoli
Lazio bounced back from their derby defeat with an important 0-3 in Palermo with striker Klose grabbing an early brace. Empoli won just their second game this year by shocking Fiorentina. Home win expected.
Sampdoria vs Milan
Sampdoria fans must be relishing the end of the season in what has been a dreadful campaign for what is normally a solid team. Milan fans are in a similar position as they were beaten by eternal rivals Juventus on the weekend, following which Mihajlovic was sacked and was immediately replaced with former player Brocchi. I am backing a draw.
