Despite a brave performance Crotone conceded a very late goal to lose 1-0 in Rome in what was their 13th league defeat of the season to remain in the relegation zone. Bologna were easily brushed aside by a far superior Juventus in Turin however remain 10 points above the drop zone. I am backing a bore draw.

Inter vs Chievo
A Perisic double handed Inter their fourth Serie A win on the trot as the team seem to settling into Pioli’s system while Chievo’s poor run of form continued after they lost at home to Atalanta as they continue to slide down the table despite a great start to their season. I am backing another win for the Nerazzurri on Saturday night.

Cagliari vs Genoa
Cagliari conceded a very late Bacca strike to lost out at the San Siro while Genoa were punished by a first half Izzo own goal as they lost 0-1 to Roma in what is a rare home defeat for the Ligurians. I reckon the Sardinians will put up a fight and the visitors will have settle for a draw.

Lazio vs Atalanta
Lazio left it very late to down a stubborn Crotone side as Inzaghi’s side maintained their 4th place in the standings in their quest to secure Champions League football in May. Atalanta are also on a mission to play European football next year as their superb season continued with an impressive 1-4 in Chievo. I predict an exciting encounter and reckon the home side can just edge this.

Napoli vs Pescara
Napoli were another of the top sides in Italy who left it very very late to secure a win last weekend as a 95th minute Tonelli strike saw them slip past a determined Sampdoria side who played for over 30 minutes with ten men following a two harsh yellow cards against defender Silvestre. With just one win this season Pescara are hot favourites to return to Serie B.

Sampdoria lost in the cruellest of circumstances on Saturday night as they conceded a very late goal to return home empty handed. Empoli defeated fellow relegation candidates Palermo thanks to a penalty converted by veteran striker Maccarone to move 7 points clear of the bottom three. Home win expected.

Sassuolo vs Palermo
Sassuolo are just eight points above the bottom three in what has been a disappointing season for the Neroverdi considering their 6th place finish last season. Palermo are heading back down to Serie B as they lost out in Empoli and now linger 7 points from safety. This is a must win for the home side.

Udinese vs Roma
Udinese could have gone 3-0 up in the opening 20 minutes but were punished after failing to take their chances and eventually lost out 1-2 to Inter. Roma were far from impressive as they won 0-1 on their travels thanks to an own goal as Spalletti’s men remained well in the hunt of second place Juventus. I reckon the visitors can win again on Sunday.

Sunday night sees two of Italy’s top teams clash in Florence as Fiorentina welcome reigning champions and league leaders Juventus. The home side have had mixed fortunes so far this term and sit in a mid-table position while Juventus look more and more likely of securing their sixth consecutive Scudetto in a few months time. Expect a game full of action and drama.
