Atalanta will be pleased with their first points after back-to-back defeats as they played out a 0-0 draw at the San Siro to frustrate the home side Milan. Empoli will be equally pleased following their 2-0 home win over Cagliari to move five points above the bottom three. Home win expected.

Inter vs Lazio
Inter recorded their first away win in over a month as Pioli’s side look to make up for lost ground in their hunt for Champions League football next season. Lady luck shone on Lazio on Sunday evening as they did just enough to beat a wasteful Fiorentina at the Olimpico to to move up to 4th in the Serie A table. I predict an exciting game which will end all square.

Cagliari vs Sassuolo
Both sides lost their respective games last weekend as the Sardinians lost out to Empoli while a Sassuolo side missing a handful of regulars were beaten by Inter on their home soil as their poor season continued. The home side will want to win this but I reckon they will have to settle for a point.

Fiorentina vs Napoli
Fiorentina failed to make the most of their chances including a missed penalty by front man Ilicic which would have put La Viola back on level terms after going two goals down in the first half. Napoli won 5-3 in a thrilling encounter at the San Paolo with front man Mertens scoring a poker of goals in what was an impressive display for the Belgian. I predict an enticing game and am backing an away win.

Palermo vs Pescara
Palermo pulled off the surprise win of the weekend after scoring three late goals to come back and win 3-4 in Genoa as the Sicilians finally show some grit! Pescara lost 0-3 at home to Bologna and these sides occupy the two bottom places in the Serie A table after a disappointing season for both of them. This is a very hard one to call however I reckon the home side will push through for a win after Sunday’s astonishing comeback.

Roma vs Chievo
Despite a hard fought performance Roma failed to really test a superior Juve side and were ultimately undone by a superb Higuain solo effort as Spalletti’s men now lag seven points behind league leaders Juventus. As predicted Chievo’s positive form continued with an important 2-1 win over Sampdoria as they remained 10th in the standings. The home side to bounce back.

Sampdoria vs Udinese
Despite controlling the lion’s share of possession in what was an extremely balanced encounter Sampdoria failed to make their chances count and lost 2-1 to Chievo. Udinese have now won three on the trot following an awful start for Delneri’s squad as they look to make up for lost ground. Just two points separates these two sides and their recent form suggests a draw is on the cards.

Torino conceded three early goals in Naples and despite a late fightback Il Toro couldn’t do enough to avoid their third Serie A defeat in a row. Genoa made easy work of bottom side Palermo to move up to 9th in the standings in what has been an extremely positive season for the Ligurian club. I am backing the home side to win this.

Crotone lost their 12th game of the season as the newly promoted side look very likely of returning to Serie B come May while Juventus won an extremely important encounter over Roma at the Juventus Stadium to move seven points clear at the top. Comfortable away win expected.

Bologna took full advantage of their numerical superiority as they thrashed lowly Pescara 0-3 to move 11 points clear of the relegation zone. Milan were frustrated by an organised Atalanta side on Saturday afternoon as the Rossoneri failed to create any real chances and eventually had a settle for a point in a 0-0 bore draw. I am backing Montella’s side to win this.
