Torino Vs Catania
While never in any real danger of relegation Torino will finish the season just a handful of points above the bottom three. They did well last weekend to leave Chievo with a point, while Catania have been superb this year, as they sit above Inter in the standings. Even though this is the final week of Serie A fixtures both teams will want to end with atleast a point to add to their tally.
Atalanta Vs Chievo
Atalanta were far from impressive this season but have managed to remain in the Serie A while Chievo will finish just beneath mid-table. Atalanta were undone by a Di Natale double while Chievo were held at home. This fixture has a bore draw all over it!
Pescara Vs Fiorentina
Pescara rarely stood a chance of lasting more then a season in top flight football and were deservedly the first team to be relegated. The opposite has to be said for Fiorentina who are just a two points away from second place following an impressive second half to their campaign. With Pescara having so little to play for I reckon La Viola will win this.
Bologna Vs Genoa
Bologna will be pleased with their recent win on their travels to the Tardini stadium in what has been a positive season while Genoa will be chuffed that they managed to stave off relegation following a dismal season. Arguably additional reinforcements will be needed over the summer if they are to avoid another relegation battle next year. I predict a home win.
Sampdoria Vs Juventus
La Samp have had quite an inconsistent season and should be grateful that their early start earned them enough points to avoid the relegation battle a few points below them. Juventus have secured their second title on the trot under Antonio Conte’s reign and are bound to strengthen their ranks further over the summer. Their closest rivals really have their work cut out for them if they are ever going to knock them off their perch!
Cagliari Vs Lazio
The Sardinians will be pleased with their mid-table finish while Lazio will also be pleased after their first season under coach Petkovic, as they look towards the Coppa Italia final in a couple of weeks. With Lazio’s Europa League position all but secured I predict an exciting score draw.
Siena Vs Milan
Siena fans will be gutted to return to Serie B football following a couple of years in the first division while Milan still have it all to play for in order to secure Champions League football last season. The Rossoneri were involved in an exciting 0-0 draw against Roma on Sunday night and involved an extremely bizarre sending off of Muntari. Away win expected here in what could be Allegri’s last game in charge.
Roma Vs Napoli
Roma failed to make the most of their numerical advantage at the San Siro as they were held to a scoreless draw by Milan in what was a tense match. Totti joined Muntari for an early bath in the dieing minutes following a nasty elbow against ex-team mate Mexes. Napoli left it late to came back and avoid an embarrassing loss at home to Siena. With Napoli in such fine form I am sticking my neck out and backing them to leave the Olimpico with all three points.
Prediction 1-2
Palermo Vs Parma
Palermo’s could not put off the inevitable as they were confirmed as the last team to be relegated from the Serie A. Parma’s recent form has been far from superb and I am backing the Sicilians to go down with a win.
Inter Vs Udinese
Inter were far from perfect as they were let off the hook by some fantastic saves from goalkeeper Handanovic to leave Genoa with a point. Udinese have been really superb this season and will be grateful that Di Natale has not lost his goal scoring touch as he scored his 24th and 25th goals of the season to ensure his team retain their 5th please in the standings. With Inter in such poor form and lacking confidence, I am backing the visitors to take this.
