Sampdoria vs Juventus
Sampdoria are clinging onto 5th place and after such a great season seem to be running out of steam and losing out of Europa League football. Juventus are now just one point away from clinching their fourth consecutive Scudetto in what has been a pretty comfortably year for the Old Lady, who are undoubtedly head and shoulders above their adversaries. I expect a close game and considering Juve’s mid-week Champions League tie, I reckon a draw is on the cards.

Sassuolo vs Palermo
Sassuolo were swept aside by a dominant Roma side on their home turf. Despite the loss they still maintained a 12 point gap over the bottom 3 so they are all but safe from the drop. As expected, Palermo fought hard and were held in Sicily by an equally determined Torino. I predict a closely fought game between these two sides who will be happy to settle for a draw.

Roma vs Genoa
Garcia’s side bounced back from their weekend loss at the San Siro in a convincing away win at Sassuolo, in what is probably their best performance in recent months to remain just one point behind local rivals Lazio. Genoa were superb as they downed a poor Milan side at the San Siro in what was their first victory over the Rossoneri in 20 years. This will be a close game but considering Roma’s greater need to win and home support I reckon a home win is the most likely outcome.

Atalanta vs Lazio
As predicted Atalanta were given a good run for their money in Cesena and left with an important point thanks to a Pinilla double to remain 8 points above the relegation zone. Lazio hammered the final nail in Parma’s coffin in a comfortable 4-0 win at the Olimpico to remain in 2nd place with high hopes of Champions League football next season. I am backing the visitors to win this considering their superb form.

Fiorentina vs Cesena
Fiorentina have impressed all this season with their attractive, attacking football and could potentially play Champions League football next season if they win the Europa League. La Viola were extremely close to securing a point at the Juventus Stadium but missed out after Rodriguez missed his second penalty of the game. Cesena are 8 points from safety and are unlikely to catch up considering just five Gamesweeks are left. Comfortable home win expected.

Verona vs Udinese
Verona’s form has improved drastically during the second part of the season and they have slowly climbed up the standings to a mid-table position. Udinese were beaten by Inter on Tuesday night after playing for almost half the game with nine men. Despite the loss Stramaccioni’s men showed real determination and almost scored a dramatic equaliser late on . Score draw expected.

Inter vs Chievo
Inter won their second game on the trot as they get closer and closer to Europa League football. The Nerazzurri were extremely sloppy ad failed to make the most of their numerical advantage. Chievo’s run of positive form continued with an important win over struggling Cagliari. This is another mush win for Mancini’s side.

Napoli vs Milan
Napoli’s superb form came to an abrupt end as they were downed on their travels to Empoli to now all but lose touch with the all important third place Champions League spot. Milan’s season keeps on getting from bad to worse as they were embarassed at the San Siro by a more determined Genoa. Despite Benitez’s sides mid-week Europa League tie, they should have enough to win this.

Cagliari vs Parma
All hope seems lost for these two sides who have struggled to maintain the pace with the rest of the pack since September. While the Sardinians will at least get the chance to re-build in Serie B the visitors will most likely be declared bankrupt and cease to exist come June. I predict a score draw in what is a nothing but a battle of pride.

Torino vs Empoli
Torino will look forward to the summer break as a period to strengthen their squad in key areas so as to be more competitive especially with the big boys. Il Toro will be pleased with the hard earned point in Sicily. Empoli pulled off the surprise result of Gamesweek 33 by beating an in form Napoli side in front of their home fans, in a game which ended 4-2 with three own goals. Despite their recent win I predict Empoli will be beaten in Turin.
