Milan Vs Livorno

Milan have now won four on the trot as Seedorf’s side squeezed past lowly Catania at the San Siro thanks to a Montolivo screamer from well outside the visitor’s area. Livorno were downed by a Paloschi hat-trick to remain among the bottom three and are now three points from safety after the teams above them managed to secure a vital point. I can see only one winner in this fixture.

Prediction 2-0

Atalanta Vs Verona

As expected Atalanta stood little chance of winning and despite a brave performance at the Olimpico were downed by a much stronger Roma side. The Nerazzurri have had a fine season and sit exactly in mid-table on equal points with the visitors who have fallen down the table following a poor run of games in 2014. This will be a close encounter between two inconsistent sides, however I am sticking my neck out and backing a home win.

Prediction 2-1

Catania Vs Sampdoria

Despite having more shots on target at the San Siro bottom side Catania were unable to make them count and remained rooted to the bottom of the Serie A standings. Time is really running out for the Sicilians who now face a battered and bruised Sampdoria side, who were humiliated in front of their home fans in a 0-4 drubbing to Inter. Mihajlovic will demand an instant reaction from his men but I reckon the home side will do enough to secure a draw.

Prediction 1-1

Chievo Vs Sassuolo

Chievo took an important step to safety as they beat fellow relegation candidates Livorno on their travels to increase the gap above the bottom three to 5 points with just 5 matches remaining. The team from Verona will all but secure safety should they beat Sassuolo, who are in the same position as Livorno and who have struggled all season. Home win expected.

Prediction 3-1

Genoa Vs Cagliari

As predicted Genoa were downed by a stronger Torino side in Turin after taking an 85th minute lead thanks to Gilardino only to concede two goals at the death. Despite the results, Genoa have had an extremely positive season following a number of years in the relegation scrap. Cagliari did well to draw at Sassuolo and are now 8 points clear of the bottom three to all but secure Serie A football next season. The home side should have enough to down the Sardinians.

Prediction 2-0

Lazio Vs Torino

Despite a valiant effort Lazio were downed in Naples in a six goal thriller. Following this game and the past 5 months of his second stint as coach, Reja will undoubtedly have a lot of positives to build on and the Biancocelesti faithful can look forward to next season with high aspirations. Torino are another side who have plenty to look forward to next season in what has been a good year for Ventura’s side, with the attacking process of Cerci and Immobile proving to be unstoppable for most defences. This deadly duo were once again on target in their important home win over Genoa last weekend. Exciting score draw expected.

Prediction 2-2

Parma Vs Inter

Parma have been the biggest surprise package of the season and deservedly sit 6th in the standings following an impressive year for Donadoni’s men, who also went on a 16 game unbeaten run no too long ago. Inter on the other hand will feel slightly disappointed after so much ambition at the start of the season. Inter fans will most likely blame coach Mazzarri due to his negative tactics, which have seen Inter drop 15 points in these part two months alone, at home to bottom half to the table teams. Despite beating Sampdoria last weekend, Inter are still not playing great football and I predict Parma will have enough to win this at the Tardini.

Prediction 2-1

Udinese Vs Napoli

Compared to recent seasons Udinese are having a season to forget. Once again wholesale changes were made over the summer, however unlike recent years, coach Guidolin was unable to re-build his squad into a competitive side, who are 14th in the standings. Like Inter, Napoli started the season full of ambition following the arrival of Benitez as coach and the likes of Higuain, Callejon and Albiol from Real Madrid. However their campaign quickly turned sour after being knocked out of the group stages of the Champions League and losing track of runaway league leaders Juventus as early as February. I predict a close match, but I reckon the Partnepoi can just pip this.

Prediction 1-2

Juventus Vs Bologna

Juventus are just a couple of wins away from securing their third consecutive Scudetto in what has been a superb domestic season for Conte’s side. Few can argue that La Juve are by far the strongest side in Italy and can now look forward towards the summer break in which they will look to strengthen further in order to make a more concrete assault on the Champions League. Bologna are hovering 3 points above the bottom three and are more likely to survive this season due to the shortcomings of others. Comfortable home win predicted.

Prediction 2-0

Fiorentina Vs Roma

La Viola are another surprise package this season, who despite a limited squad, plagued by injuries, have played some good football and are likely to finish 4th this season. Montella has guided his side well and will be keen to reinforce certain areas of his squad during the summer break. Roma have gone from strength to strength this season under the guidance of coach Rudi Garcia and boast the best defence in the league. The team from the capital have all but consolidated their second place finish. Expect a great footballing spectacle between two sides who love to attack.
