Sassuolo Vs Cagliari

Sassuolo put on a determined display to pull of a surprising win over an in form Atalanta side. Despite this important win the Serie A newcomers remain 3 points inside the drop zone. Cagliari were well beaten by second place Roma but maintained their 7 point cushion above the bottom three and I suspect will go into this match slightly complacent. The home side really need to pick up points in matches like this and that is why I am backing them.

Roma Vs Atalanta

Roma kept the pressure on run away leaders Juventus with a good win on their travels to Sardinia. Even though the Romans are now probably too late to catch up with La Juve they will look forward to next season. The Nerazzuri were unexpectedly beaten on their home soil but relegation candidates to end their positive run and I predict another defeat for Atalanta at the Olimpico.

Prediction 3-1

Bologna Vs Parma

Ballardini’s men rode their luck and took their chances as they managed to hold off a shabby Inter side at the San Siro and leave with a vital point. Parma got back to winning ways after four games without a win to keep their Europa League hopes alive for next season. Donadoni’s men are one of the surprise packages of the season and have played some great football this term. Score draw expected.

Prediction 1-1

Verona Vs Fiorentina

Verona managed to get their revenge in the local derby after losing out to Chievo back in November.Despite a poor 2014 Mandorlini’s men are still in with a fighting chance to secure European football next season. La Viola are very close to finishing the season in 4th place, a feat I am sure will delight everyone within the Fiorentina camp, particularly coach Vincenzo Montella. Considering both these sides form I am backing an away win.

Prediction 1-2

Livorno Vs Chievo

As expected Livorno were well beaten at the Juventus stadium to remain in the 18th place, just two points from safety. Chievo lost out to local rivals Verona in what was a pretty dull affair. The visitors cannot afford to lose this fixture or they could find themselves among the bottom three. I don’t think Livorno have enough firepower to win this and that’s why I am backing a draw.

Prediction 1-1

Napoli Vs Lazio

After a long and pretty poor season the Napoli’s fateful were girted a wonderful performance by their side, who took control and downed the reigning champions 2-0 at the San Paolo. Benitez’s side are likely to finish third this season, ensuring Champions League football once again, however it is clear that more was expected of his squad, who were knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages and fell out of the title challenge months ago. Lazio can look forward to next season under Reja, who has made good progress considering what he inherited when he took charge in December. I can see nothing but a home win on Sunday afternoon.

Prediction 3-1

Sampdoria Vs Inter

Sampdoria were knocked back down to earth in Gamesweek 32 when they were comfortably beaten at the Olimpico by a more organised Lazio side. Nevertheless La Samp have done extremely well under the guidance of Mihajlovic who has steered them out of the bottom three and into a safe mid-table position. Inter have been very inconsistent this season and this year alone have dropped over 15 points at home against teams in the bottom half of the table. Much more is expected from this squad, who I fear have lost all confidence in coach Mazzarri. Draw expected.

Prediction 1-1

Torino Vs Genoa

Il Toro have had a fantastic season to date as they sit just 5 points below a Europa League place. Few would have expected them to do so well but their attacking front line has made all the difference with both Cerci and Immobile showing flashes of brilliance throughout the year. The same can be said for Genoa, who in the last couple of seasons always survived the drop in the final Gamesweek and this year will end with a comfortable mid-table finish. I am backing Torino to win this.

Milan Vs Catania

Clarence Seedorf has not ruled out European football for his struggling side, who in fairness have improved in recent week and are steadily climbing the table. They did well to return from Genoa with three points and will look at this visit by bottom side Catania as another three important points. The Sicilians have been shocking this season and will deservedly be relegated despite the best intentions of their coach and players. Home win expected at the San Siro.

Prediction 2-0

Udinese Vs Juventus

Like Catania, Udinese are a side who have sunk to new lows this season. The once mighty Zebrette have been crippled by the wholesale changes made once again over the summer, by a board of directors who seem more keen on making a healthy profit than playing competitive football. Guidolin’s side are safe from the drop this season but will not be satisfied with their efforts and expect to massive improvement next season. La Juve will be pleased with how their campaign has gone so far. Despite not making it past the group stages in the Champions League, they have secured a semi-final place in the Europa League and are just three wins away from securing their third successive Scudetto. Truth be told, Conte’s side is showing signs of fatigue and that is why I am backing a draw.
