Torino Vs Livorno

Torino really were robbed last weekend when a late Higuain stike was allowed to stand, after a clear foul by the same player in the build up to the goal, meaning that El Toro ended the game with no points. Livorno’s chances of survival took a massive turn for the better after they beat fellow relegation candidates Bologna, despite ending the game with 9 men. Torino to bounce back from four successive defeats.

Prediction 2-0

Chievo Vs Roma

Chievo proved easy pickings for an improved Fiorentina side, who remain just a point above the drop zone in what is expected to be a tense couple of months for the home side. Roma did well to see off Udinese at the Olimpico and will have no room for complacency when they make the long visit north as they look to maintain the pressure on first place Juventus. I reckon Garcia’s side should have enough grit to win this.

Prediction 1-2

Parma Vs Genoa

Parma are on an incredible 15 game unbeaten run which has seen them climb to 6th in the Serie A standings, just 2 points behind fourth place Fiorentina. Donadoni’s side showed great determination to score two late goals, after Milan managed to peg them back to 2-2, to leave with three vital points from the San Siro. Genoa paid for not taking their chances after they had a penalty saved by Buffon and ended up conceding a very late Pirlo free kick to finish the game with no points. Considering Parma’s recent form their can only be one winner in this.

Prediction 2-0

Bologna Vs Cagliari

Bologna were downed on their travels to Livorno in Week 28 as they slipped into the relegation zone and will look as this fixture as one of their last remaining opportunities to win three points. Even though Cagliari have been far from perfect this season, they have done just enough to always remain just above the bottom three. Bore draw expected.

Prediction 1-1

Inter Vs Atalanta

Inter have been in great form in recent weeks, mainly down to their solid defence which has kept a clean sheet in their last three outings. They face an Atalanta side who are fresh from a 3-0 thrashing of Sampdoria which has seen them climb to 9th in the standings and will prove to be tough nut to crack for Mazzarri’s men. Despite this I reckon Inter can win all three point at the San Siro.

Prediction 2-0

Sampdoria Vs Verona

Sampdoria sit 11 points above the bottom three and will feel very confident of surviving another year of top flight Italian football following a new lease of life after Mihajlovic took over the reigns several months ago. Verona are a shadow of the side who took the Serie A by storm in the beginning of this campaign, since they have struggled for form in 2014 and must be on their toes when the make the short visit to the Luigi Ferraris. I predict a score draw.

Prediction 2-2

Udinese Vs Sassuolo

Udinese sit 8 points above the bottom three in what can only be described as a dreadful season for Guidolin’s side, who have struggled to re-group after the wholesale changes made over the summer. Newcomers Sassuolo remain in penultimate place after spending the bulk of their season among the bottom three. Le Zebrette to win this.

Prediction 2-1

Napoli Vs Fiorentina

Napoli were gifted a late winner via a disastrous refereeing decision as they went on to beat Torino 0-1 in what was a dull affair to keep their second place hopes alive. Benitez’s side were also dumped out of the Europa League on Wednesday night after they failed to beat a better Porto side over two legs. Le Viola were also knocked out of Europe’s second competition when they lost at home to a late Pirlo freekick and will now be focusing on securing the best possible finish in the Serie A, which at the moment is fourth place. Tough call, since the southerners are in poor form and Montella’s side have proven that they can hold their own this season, however I predict the home advantage will be key!

Prediction 2-1

Catania Vs Juventus

Catania were downed on their travels to lowly Sassuolo as they remained rooted to the bottom of the Serie A and prime relegation candidates. La Juve have been saved twice in one week, botm time via two stunning Andrea Pirlo freekicks, who simply oozes class! This should be an easy win for the reigning champions as they maintain there steady march towards their third consecutive Scudetto.

Prediction 0-2

Lazio Vs Milan

Sunday night second fixture sees the meeting of two sides who have both changed their managers in recent seasons following an extremely poor campaign, particularly the Rossoneri who are a shadow of the side who once dominated European football just 15 years ago and currently sit 11th in the standings. Both sides are shaky at the back so expect lots of goals in what I predict will end in a draw.
