Genoa Vs Milan
Genoa look to continue their positive run of form and increase the gap over the three teams lying directly below them in the drop zone as they attempt to halt Milan’s march to the 3rd Champions League place in the Serie A standings. Milan did very well last Saturday night as they swept aside a ten man Lazio side, however they might already have one eye on their tough Champions League fixture on Tuesday night at the Camp Nou.
Udinese Vs Roma
Udinese continued their positive form by beating relegation candidates Pescara on their travels. Experienced tactician Guidolin has once again done a fantastic job this season. Roma have also found their feet under their new manager Andreazzoli. This will be an entertaining encounter between two teams who both enjoy playing open, fast football. Expect a lot of goals.
Atalanta Vs Pescara
Atalanta did well to beat Siena on their travels while Pescara now lie at the very bottom of the Serie A following some uninspired performances. Considering both teams form I am going for a home win.
Juventus Vs Catania
Even though the reigning Serie A champions won comfortably in the away leg of the Champions League Last 16, Conte still fielded a strong side during Wednesday nights home clash. This might be a decision he regrets as a bruised Catania side visit Juventus stadium after squandering a two goal lead to succumb to just their third home defeat of the season against Inter. Even though Juve will be tired they should have enough in the tank to see off the Sicilians.
Chievo Vs Napoli
Chievo have not won in five rounds and even though there are still 8 points between them and the bottom three, they will be motivated to increase that gap further until they are mathematically ensured of remaining in the top flight. Napoli have been held to four consecutive draws as they squandered a number of chances to catch the league leaders. Mazzarri really has a job on his hands if the Partnepoi are to win their first title since Maradona’s days.
Cagliari Vs Sampdoria
Cagliari were demolished on their travels by a free flowing Bologna side, while La Samp did well to see off Parma at home. With just a few points separating these two teams I reckon a draw is the most likely outcome.
Palermo Vs Siena
This encounter sees a battle between two of the clubs amongst the bottom three who are all on 21 points. With Genoa sitting 5 points above both teams it is imperative that one team wins if they are to stand any chance of closing the gap and retaining Serie A status in the remaining gameweeks. Considering both teams poor form I reckon a draw is the most likely outcome.
Parma Vs Torino
Parma were beaten by a lone goal on their travels to Sampdoria on Sunday afternoon while Torino were held at home by Palermo who lie in penultimate place. These two teams sit on equal points in the standings however I am sticking my neck out and going for a home win.
Prediction 2-1
Inter Vs Bologna
Inter pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season after being two goals down at Catania to go on to score the winner in stoppage time. Bologna also put on an impressive display as they defeated Cagliari at home by three unanswered goals. Inter must watch out for the Rossoblu’s attacking front line, especially considering they have a tough Europa League fixture to contend with just three days before.
Lazio Vs Fiorentina
Lazio fell to 5th in the standings, albeit just a point off third place, as they were beaten by Milan at the San Siro after being reduced to ten men within 17 minutes of play. Fiorentina did well to see of a stubborn Chievo side and are now just three points off the much coveted third spot in the standings. With so much to play for both teams will take a more cautious approach, however I am backing the team from the capital to go all the way.
