Atalanta vs Inter
Atalanta have now lost two games in a matter of days as they’re start to 2016 proves harder than expected as they were beaten by a struggling Genoa side on Sunday afternoon. Lady luck was not on Inter’s side as Mancini’s men failed to take their chances and were punished through a 95th minute penalty for visitors Sassuolo. I predict a draw.

Torino vs Frosinone
Torino’s season seems to be getting from bad to worse as they were beaten at home by a tough Empoli side and being dragged into a relegation scrape should results not improve soon. Frosinone were absolutely pummeled when an in form Napoli side made the journey to Rome on Sunday afternoon leaving the Serie A newcomers four points from safety. This is a must win for the home side.

Napoli vs Sassuolo
Napoli showed why they are among the favorites for the Scudetto on Sunday afternoon as they smashed five past a hapless Frosinone side to end the Gameweek at the top of the table. Sassuolo rode their luck and got a lucky break as they were awarded a late penalty to leave the San Siro with an impressive win, ending what has been an impressive first half of the season for Di Francesco’s side who have snatched at least a point from almost all of Italy’s top sides. I reckon Napoli will overpower these impressive minnows.

Genoa vs Palermo
Genoa bounced back after a couple of disappointing defeats to beat Atalanta on their travels thanks to two late goals and move four points above the drop zone. Palermo lumped further misery of struggling Verona as an early Vazquez goal sealed three points. I reckon this iwll be a close encounter between the 17th and 16th placed sides respectively but I reckon the home side can pip this.

Bologna vs Lazio
Bologna had the perfect chance to earn atleast a point on Sunday afternoon, however young front man Destro missed an early penalty which was later punished by a Chievo goal 10 minutes from the end. Lazio once again showed just how inconsistent they are as they beat Fiorentina in Florence in what was a great performance by Pioli’s squad, just a few days after they were held at home by Serie A newcomers Carpi. Close game expected.

Carpi vs Sampdoria
Carpi won their third game of the season however remain among the bottom three and will desperately need to pull up their socks or face an quick return to Serie B. Despite a brave display La Samp were beaten by a superior Juventus side to remain in a mid-table position, however with better prospects for the second half of the season under the guidance of Vincenzo Montella. I predict another draw is on the cards.

Chievo vs Empoli
There has undoubtedly been a big improvement among the Chievo ranks this season as they rode their luck to beat a wasteful Bologna on Sunday to limp into the top half of the table while a determined Empoli side beat a struggling Torino side in Turin thanks to veteran striker Maccarone’s second half goal. Both sides have exceeded all expectations so far this season and I believe Empoli have enough to hold out for a draw.

Roma vs Verona
Just like previous seasons, Roma seem to be going off the rails again as they slip further behind the chasing pack at the top of the standings after Milan outplayed them for long spells at the Olimpico with the game eventually ending in a draw. It was the last straw for coach Garcia as the Roma owners sacked the manager on Wednesday with Spalletti rumored to be making a return. Nothing but maximum points against stragglers Verona will do.

Udinese vs Juventus
Udinese are a shadow of the side who under the guidance of Guidolin used to give even the big guns a run for their money and boasted stars like Alexis Sanchez and Samir Handanovic. However they have struggled to replace all the stars who have left the club in recent years and their loss on Sunday to lowly Carpi highlights this downward trend. Juventus won convincingly in Sampdoria and are now just two points of league leaders Napoli. I am backing Allegri’s men to win this.

Milan vs Fiorentina
In what has been a topsy turvy start to Miahjlovic’s reign Milan showed some rare signs of improvement by pressing Roma inside their own half in front of their own fans to return north with an important point. Fiorentina were stunned on their homesoil by a hungrier Lazio squad to fall behind in the title race. The Rossoneri should have enough to hold out for a draw.
