Milan vs Atalanta
Muntari’s actions were disgraceful and I expect that he won’t be seeing the starting line up again any time soon. Atalanta are relegation candidates and will consider anything gained in Milan as a bonus. I expect Milan to be struggling internally this week and Atalanta could use this as an opportunity to gain a point. Score-draw, as they have done in their previous two games.
Chievo vs Fiorentina
Chievo played well to earn a draw against Atalanta, however this week they face an opposition with greater class. Fiorentina know the importance of this fixture as they look to capitalise on Lazio’s inability to hold onto all three points during a cracking derby. I expect Montella’s side to control this match and narrowly break down a stubborn Chievo defence.
Juventus vs Verona
Juventus were slightly lucky to overcome a talented Napoli side, as a mixture of questionable refereeing decisions and a Paul Pogba masterclass securing three pivotal points. This week’s fixture will provide the Turin giants with a more routine win on home soil against a side which lacks the quality to cause Juventus trouble.
Parma vs Sampdoria
This game is crucial sides. Parma’s poor return of 9 points from 18 games has made Serie B a strong reality. The key for the side is to improve their home form and instil some belief across the squad. Sampdoria will be delighted after seeing Napoli drop points against the current champions. They will fancy their chances against a poor Parma side and I expect them to pile on the misery for Parma.
Genoa vs Sassuolo
Sassuolo’s continue to exceed expectations and continued their 12 match unbeaten run against a strong Udinese side. Genoa will be cursing their luck following Costa’s injury and might be looking to the transfer window for a quick-fix in their striking department. I expect this to be a huge disadvantage for Genoa and for that reason Sassuolo will continue their impressive unbeaten run.
Cesena vs Torino
It’s been a season to forget so far for Cesena. They are rooted to the foot of the Seria A and lost to fellow strugglers Cagliari last weekend, meaning a positive result at home to Torino here is imperative. Torino meanwhile came from behind to draw at home to ten man Milan and will seek to better that result with victory at Cesena.

Udinese vs Cagliari
Both these sides have had seasons to forget so far. Udinese drew against Sassuolo last Sunday stretching their winless run to four league games, whilst Cagliari find themselves in the relegation zone. There is a glimmer of hope for both sides however. A win for Udinese could see them rise as high as 8th in the table while Gianfranco Zola registered his first win as manager of Cagliari and the Sardinians are now just two points adrift of safety. This game will be a battle but I can’t help but feel Udinese will edge it.
Empoli vs Inter
A rejuvenated Inter side travel to lowly Empoli as they look to build on their impressive form under Mancini. They easily overcame the challenge of high-flying Genoa at the San Siro last weekend and with the likes of Podolski and Shaqiri the Nerazzurri are very much a team on the up. I’m backing them to come away from a potentially tricky away clash with all three points here.
Palermo vs Roma
Palermo almost pulled off an incredible comeback at Fiorentina last weekend but ultimately fell just short as they were defeated 4-3. That result meant they lost valuable points in their hunt for the European spots. Roma meanwhile had the inspirational Francesco Totti to thank for their draw against eternal rivals Lazio. Totti scored both goals in that game and the Giallorossi will look to him to perform his heroics once again in Sicily. Roma need a win to keep up the pace with Juventus and I feel they will get all 3 points here.
Lazio vs Napoli
This is a direct clash between the two clubs vying for the third Champions League position. Lazio were somewhat unlucky not to beat Roma last weekend and will be kicking themselves after failing to hold onto their 2 goal lead. However, that performance will give encouragement to manager Stefano Pioli, who knows a victory here will open up a small gap over Napoli. Both clubs are in good form and I’m expecting plenty of goals here. For that reason I’m going for a high scoring draw.
