Zeman has managed to revive his team at just the right time and have now won 4/5 matches. Fiorentina have had an ever better start to their season and they deservedly sit in 4th place, however looked very lackluster last weekend and were held at home by minnows Sampdoria. With La Viola unlikely to recover the services of star man Jovetic before the weekend, I predict a home win.

Cagliari vs Chievo
One point is all that divides these two mid-table teams who sit in 13th and 15th place respectively. With Chievo pulling off a surprise victory in Genoa they will be keen to repeat this feat against a Cagliari side who have not won in five rounds, however a score draw is probably a safer bet.

Palermo vs Juventus
After a very bad start the Sicilians have managed to climb out of the relegation zone and will want to maintain their good run and build up a considerable distance from the danger area. The Old Lady will travel to Sicily buoyed by last Wednesday’s Champions League victory which saw them qualify top of their group and knock out reigning champions Chelsea. While Palermo are no easy nut to crack, Juve should prove too much for them.

Pescara vs Genoa
While many pundits would have rightly predicted Pescara to be the prime relegation candidates this year, the same could not be said for Genoa, who have once again re-shuffled their squad over the summer with a number of exciting signings, however still sit in 18th place. While on their day Genoa could topple any team, morale is at an all time low and Pescara might want to take advantage of this rare chance. A bore draw is the most likely outcome.

Siena are an extremely efficient team when playing in front of their home fans, particularly against fellow minnows while Catania have yet to win on their travels this season. Considering the Sicilians poor away form, I am sticking my neck out and going for a home victory.

Torino’s form has been far from convincing in recent weeks, while Milan’s Serie A performances have improved somewhat. Even though Milan succumbed to a home defeat on Tuesday night in the Champions League, in which Allegri opted to rest most of his key players, I predict they will bounce back and return to San Siro with maximum points.

Inter vs Napoli
The Nerazzuri were very lucky to overcome a weak Palermo side in Week 15 and only won with the help of an own goal. Napoli’s recent Serie A form has improved greatly following a barren run, however, Mazzarri might regret playing such a strong line-up in the Europa League on Thursday night when lost at home to PSV. Inter on the other hand fielded a team made up entirely of youths and reserves and should be fresher for this encounter.

Sampdoria vs Udinese
Monday night’s early fixture sees an interesting encounter between two teams who are both having indifferent seasons. While the home side have only recently returned to the top flight, Le Zebrette are still coming to terms with wholesale changes which seem to plague this team every summer. While a 4-1 home win in Games-week 15 is an encouraging result, even if against featherweights Cagliari, I reckon La Samp will prove much tougher opposition.

Even though Bologna’s ranks boast the likes of Diamanti and Gilardino, they seem to be struggling to establish themselves this season and currently sit just two points above the drop zone. Lazio have had a fantastic start to their campaign and even though they have an important away fixture in the Europa League on Thursday night, in which they secured top-spot, they will fancy their chances in Bologna and keep close to the all important top three spots in the standings. I predict an exciting score draw.
