Catania Vs Verona
Catania’s season is worsening by the week as they were easily beaten on their travels to fellow relegation candidates Sampdoria and remain rooted to the foot of the Serie A standings. Verona maintained their impressive home form in a superb last minute comeback win over Atalanta who were reduced to ten men with five minutes to go. Considering Verona’s poor away form I expect a score draw.

Juventus Vs Sassuolo
Juventus were unexpectedly knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday afternoon after the game was postponed due to freak weather conditions on Tuesday evening. Conte will have to shake his men back into shape following a poor European campaign. Sassuolo were beaten on their home soil by a reinvigorated Chievo side and face an impossible challenge on Saturday night against this bruised Juve side.

Chievo Vs Sampdoria
Chievo have been on fire in the last month and have collected 11 points in their last five matches alone. Sampdoria have also improved following the introduction of Mihajlovic as the new head coach a couple of weeks ago. This will be an interesting fixture between two of Serie A’s most in form sides. I predict a home win.

Fiorentina Vs Bologna
Fiorentina were beaten on their travels to the Olimpico in Gameweek 15 despite a valiant display while Bologna were undone by a superior Juventus side at home. This is an important fixture for Montella’s side who will need to win to keep in touch with the four teams above them.

Genoa Vs Atalanta
Genoa were undone by a late resurgence from Cagliari after taking an early lead but were then reduced to ten men after half an hour of play. Atalanta were also denied a share of the points in similar circumstances after having a man sent off in the last five minutes. Despite Atalanta being a tough nut to crack I am backing Genoa to win here.

Lazio Vs Livorno
Lazio were beaten on their travels to Torino on Sunday afternoon piling even more pressure on Petkovic who is set for the sack unless his side improve drastically before the Christmas break. Livorno were superb as they held giants Milan, however remain among the bottom three. Home win expected here.

Parma Vs Cagliari
Parma will be delighted to have shared the spoils in a six goal thriller on Sunday evening against a poor Inter side while Cagliari knocked high flying Genoa back down to earth following an impressive comeback in Sardinia. As Gameweek 16 approaches these sides are level on points but despite this I predict a victory for Parma, mainly since Cagliari have not travelled well this season.

Udinese Vs Torino
Udinese are finally playing the fantastic football they have been renowned for in recent seasons while Torino have had a flying start to their campaign as they sit a very respectable 7th in the standings. La Zebrette need to keep the momentum in order to make up for lost ground and catch up with the bog boys. Expect a home win.

Napoli Vs Inter
Despite a strong performance on Wednesday night, where they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the San Paolo, Napoli failed to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League and will now continue their European commitments in the Europa League. Rafa Benitez’s side already trail leaders Juve by 8 points and he will be itching to put one over this former side and also give his side’s faithful followers something to cheer about. Inter are struggling for form at the moment with their once solid defence leaking goals. Mazzarri will be keen to bring in some much needed reinforcements during the January transfer window now that Erick Thohir has taken over majority shareholding of Inter from the Moratti family. I can see nothing by a home win on Sunday evening.

Milan Vs Roma
Amazingly, Milan, who have been struggling for form this season are the only Italian side to go through to the last 16 of the Champions League after they managed to hold out for a score draw at the San Siro while playing with ten men for over an hour. Allegri’s side really need to improve their domestic form if they are to stand a chance of qualifying for European football next term. Roma won their first match in five following a determined display against Fiorentina at the Olimpico and will be keen to take advantage of the Rossoneri’s stuttering confidence.
