Catania Vs Udinese
Catania’s poor run of form continued as they succumbed to their 7th leagued defeat of the season at the San Paolo. Udinese have been equally inconsistent as were swept aside by a much sharper Inter side. Both these sides are struggling to find last season’s form, when they surpassed all expectations and the Sicilians will be desperate to grab atleast a point on their home soil.

Inter Vs Livorno
Inter bounced back following a series of poor results to beat Udinese comfortably on their travels and keep in touch with the top three. Mazzarri’s men desperately need to get a sequence of wins on the board if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for Champions League football next season. Livorno fended off an in form Atalanta side as they maintained their mid-table position and put further distance from the relegation scrap. I can only see one outcome on Saturday evening.

Genoa Vs Verona
Genoa appear to be a completely different side when compared to their relegation scraps in recent seasons as they downed a tough Lazio side at the Olimpico to climb to 8th in the standings with 14 points. Verona have had an equally impressive start, especially when one considers that they are newcomers to the Serie A. Despite Verona being several points above the home side, they do not travel well and that’s why I predict Genoa to make it 4 wins out of 5.

Atalanta Vs Bologna
Atalanta had a nightmare afternoon at Livorno last weekend after conceding an early goal and were reduced to ten men following two rash challenges from Carlos Carmona. Overall the Nerazzuri have had a decent start to their campaign. Following two wins on the trot Bologna seemed to have put their poor start behind them, however were unable to beat bottom side Chievo on their home soil and increase the gap from the bottom three. Home win expected.

Cagliari Vs Torino
Cagliari will undoubtedly have to be on their toes in order to stop this in form Torino side running riot in Sardinia. The home side have had a far from impressive start while the visitors seem to be re-born thanks to the fantastic, consistent performances of Alessio Cerci, who once again made the headlines for almost single handedly ending Roma’s ten match winning streak. I am backing Cerci to inspire his side to an away win.

Chievo Vs Milan
Chievo remain bottom of the Serie A standings but have atleast put an end to a six game losing streak when they drew on their travels to Bologna in a match most pundits expected them to lose. Milan are also struggling at the moment with star man Balotelli seeming to be on the verge of imploding. The Rossoneri were defeated at the San Siro and coach Allegri seems to be struggling to inspire his men. Despite Milan’s problems I am backing them to beat this weak Chievo side.

Parma Vs Lazio
Parma were downed by a late Pogba strike when Juventus made the journey South last weekend. Lazio were unexpectedly beaten at home by a tough Genoa side as it seems as though Lazio’s congested fixture list is taking it’s toll on Petkovic’s limited squad. With Lazio having a Europa League fixture on Thursday night expect a tired side and a score draw.

Roma’s record start to the season ended after they were unable to beat a determined Torino side in Turin. Sassuolo came out on top in a thrilling seven goal encounter on their travels to Sampdora in Gamesweek 11. Expect Roma to bounce back here in a comfortable home win.

Fiorentina put on a magnificent display as they swept aside a poor Milan side at the San Siro. Montella’s side have had an encouraging start to their campaign and will look to maintain their positive run when struggling Sampdoria visit Florence. The visitors were poor in their last outing when they were conceded four against fellow relegation candidates Sassuolo. Home win expected here.

Undoubtedly this weekend’s most anticipated fixture takes place at the Juventus stadium when Italy’s two top sides battle for supremacy and three vital points on Sunday evening. Both this sides have had a fairly consistent start in the domestic league, while both early elimination from the Champions League, but are still in with a fighting chance. Expect tempers to flair in what I predict will be an explosive draw.
