premier league lineup predictions

Sheffield United v Liverpool

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 12:30

Sheffield United put on a great display to see off Everton 2-0 last time out which was enough to take them up to 10th in the Premier League which is a lot better than many would have expected from them. They will see this one as a free hit with Liverpool in such great form meaning anything from this would be a huge bonus for United.

Liverpool made it a huge 15 Premier League wins on the bounce last time out when they travelled to London to take on Chelsea. This kept them 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League which is the biggest gap at the top of the table since the Premier League began. They’ll be looking to make my mistakes in this one and get another three points on the board.

We can’t see Liverpool slipping up in this one although they have been conceding a lot which we think Sheffield United will take advantage upon.

● Correct score prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 4 Liverpool
● Odds: 18/1

Aston Villa v Burnley

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

Aston Villa would have been left very frustrated after losing away at Arsenal on the weekend after the Gunners playing 60 minutes with 10 men and with Villa going in front in the game twice. However, there are a lot of positives to take from it for the team who have slipped into the bottom three.

Burnley went on to beat Norwich last time out which they will know is a big win after the confidence Norwich would have got from beating Manchester City the time before. Chris Wood bagged both of the goals for the side which would have given him a boost with them being his first of the season.

With the way Aston Villa played away to Arsenal last weekend, we can see them winning here this weekend if they can put on the same kind of show.

● Correct score prediction: Aston Villa 2 – 0 Burnley
● Odds: 12/1

Bournemouth v West Ham

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

Bournemouth made it to wins on the bounce after beating Everton before winning against local rivals Southampton away from home last Friday night. This has seen them climb up to 6th in the Premier League. Bournemouth did have a good start last season before dropping off which is what they’ll be wary of in the coming months.

West Ham stunned Manchester United by putting on a very good display at home to beat them 2-0. This will be a huge confidence booster for the Hammers going into this one and in truth, they have been playing very and do look like they could be Europa League challengers come to the end of the season.

Both sides have been playing very well of late which is why we can’t see these two being separated.

● Correct score prediction: Bournemouth 1 – 1 West Ham
● Odds: 13/2

Chelsea v Brighton

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

Chelsea would have felt unlucky not to get anything last time out losing 2-1 at home to Liverpool. For the first half, they were way off the pace and found themselves 2 behind. The second half, however, was all Chelsea. But big chances were missed which proved costly for Frank Lampard’s side.

Brighton played out a 0-0 draw with Newcastle on Saturday evening which really was not a Premier League classic. In truth, Brighton did look the better side for much of the game and would have felt unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet. However, a similar performance will see them lose this one without a doubt.

Since the first game of the season, Brighton just haven’t looked very good and with the quality Chelsea have, we think they’ll win this one comfortably.

● Correct score prediction: Chelsea 2 – 0 Brighton
● Odds: 7/1

Crystal Palace v Norwich

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

Crystal Palace would have been left after conceding last on last weekend to draw at home to Wolves, After leading for much of the game, 3 points looked secured but a lapse in concentration at the death cost them 2 precious points. They’ll be looking to make up for that in this one but will be up against it.

Norwich lost last time out to Burnley and it was clear why. They looked leggy and it comes to no surprise after a lot of effort was put into the Manchester City game the week before where they won 3-2. Pukki has been the main man for Norwich this season and if they’re to get a goal in this one, you’ll be silly to bet against him getting it.

We can see Palace getting the three points in this one although Norwich won’t make it easy.

● Correct score prediction: Crystal Palace 2 – 1 Norwich
● Odds: 8/1

Tottenham v Southampton

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

After the impressive win at home to Palace a couple of weeks ago, Tottenham have thrown a 2-0 lead away against Olympiakos in the Champions League and also a 1-0 to go and lose away to Leicester which would have left manager, Mauricio Pochettinho, fuming. They’ll look to get back to winning ways back at home this weekend to try and get back up the Premier League.

Southampton would have been left frustrated after losing at home to Bournemouth last time out which was the first time they had lost at home to the Cherries in the Premier League. A sloppy first half gave them an uphill task which they were unable to climb. This is a tough ask to get something from this one, but they have won away to Spurs before.

Although Southampton will make it hard for Spurs we can see the quality they have getting them across the line in this one to try and put the past couple of results behind them.

● Correct score prediction: Tottenham 2 – 1 Southampton
● Odds: 15/2

Wolves v Watford

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 15:00

Wolves would have received a big confidence boost after scoring a last gasp equaliser away to Crystal Palace last Sunday. However, it has been anything but the ideal start to the season for Wolves who lost their opening group game in the Europa League and find themselves 19th in the Premier League having failed to win any of the first 6 matches.

Although Wolves’ start has been bad, Watfords has been even worse which is a huge shock to everyone with both of these sides right up there last season. Watford have picked up just 2 points so far this season and come into this game having lost 8-0, yes eight – nil, to Manchester City which would have been embarrassing for those players.

Wolves are yet to win this season but we can see that changing in this one against a Watford side who are really failing to impress.

● Correct score prediction: Wolves 2 – 0 Watford
● Odds: 17/2

Everton v Manchester City

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Saturday 28th September, 17:30

Everton come into this one off the back of back to back defeats to Bournemouth and Sheffield United which is something no one would have guessed a couple of weeks ago. It will be more of the same old, same old for the Everton fans who have been through this all before. They have a great squad and one that could challenge high up the league if they can become more consistent.

Manchester City won 8-0 last time out without Raheem Sterling on the pitch as well as 2 of their key centre half’s. If this wasn’t a statement to Liverpool and the rest of the league, we don’t know what is. Pep Guardiola was obviously not happy with the defeat to Norwich in the previous Premier League match so took it out on poor Watford.

With the form Everton are in, we can’t see Manchester City making any mistakes in this one having already dropped five points behind Liverpool.

● Correct score prediction: Everton 1 – 3 Manchester City
● Odds: 10/1

Leicester v Newcastle

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Sunday 29th September, 16:30

Leicester managed to come from behind to beat Tottenham last time out with up and coming star James Maddison scoring a screamer to win it for the Foxes. This has seen them rise up to third in the Premier League which comes at no surprise with the performances they have been putting on. Leicester are definitely the side to watch this season.

Newcastle were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Brighton last time out which would have been a frustrating evening for the Toon faithful. They’ll be in for a tough evening if they play the same this weekend as Leicester are punishing sides who are not at there best.

We can’t see Leicester slipping up in this one. They are playing with a lot of confidence which is showing how much quality they have.

● Correct score prediction: Leicester 2 – 0 Newcastle
● Odds: 6/1

Manchester United v Arsenal

Kick-off: Gameweek 7, Monday 30th September, 20:00

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from the extremely poor performance last time out which saw them lose 2-0 away to West Ham. This has seen United slip down to 8th in the Premier League, already three points behind to top four which may not seem much now but if they fail to win here, it could be a lot worse.

Arsenal can not only make a big statement in this game but also have the chance to go six points ahead of Manchester United and possibly go up to 2nd if other results go there way. They made things tough for themselves last time out after going down to 10 men and having to come from behind twice to beat Aston Villa at the Emirates.

Both sides have had mixed starts to the season and will be looking to really kick start it this weekend. We can see a shock occurring this weekend with Arsenal taking all three points. United really haven’t looked that good this season and we can see Arsenal taking advantage of that.

● Correct score prediction: Manchester United 0 – 1 Arsenal
● Odds: 14/1
