epl predictions this weekend

Bournemouth v Manchester United

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 12:30

Bournemouth have hit a bit of bad form of late and the draw away to Watford last time out would have been a big disappointment considering the circumstances of their opponents. They’ll be in for a much tougher test in this one but as the side have shown before, it is sometimes better for them to play better sides as it brings the best out of them.

Manchester United would have been pleased to put an end to a long run without an away win last weekend after beating Norwich 3-1 on the road. They will know there is still a long way to go to be challenging near the top again but if they can start winning games like these more consistently, they’ll give themselves a good chance of getting into the top four come to the end of the season.

Bournemouth haven’t been at their best of late and Manchester United, apart from last weekend, have been very poor on the road which is why we’re going for a draw in the opening match of the weekend.

● Correct score prediction: Bournemouth 1 – 1 Manchester United
● Odds: 6/1

Arsenal v Wolves

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

Arsenal were left frustrated and angry last weekend as they let a 2 goal lead slip at home to Crystal Palace to have to settle for just a point. Club captain, Granit Xhaka, was the centre of attention after being substituted early in the second half, being booed by his own fans and reacting angrily. Many fans are asking for him not to play for the club again but only time will tell.

Wolves haven’t been as strong as last season and that mainly comes from the way they have been starting games. They are giving teams the chance to attack them early which happened last weekend when they went behind to Newcastle. They’ll be thankful they pulled through in the second half to get a point and from the second half will feel they’re unlucky to go home with only a point.

If Wolves start quickly, we think Arsenal could be in trouble in this one. However, with both sides still yet to find their best form, we think both will go home with a point.

● Correct score prediction: Arsenal 1 – 1 Wolves
● Odds: 8/1

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

A tough couple of weeks this for Aston Villa as they lost 3-0 to Manchester City last weekend and now face Liverpool this weekend. They’ll need to be at their absolute best this weekend if they are to get anything from the game but they have shown already they are no pushover when it comes to playing the top six and could make life difficult for Liverpool this weekend.

Liverpool come from a goal behind to beat Tottenham at Anfield last time out which reinstated there six-point gap at the top of the Premier League. With the side only dropping two points all season so far and currently unbeaten, it is hard to point out any weak points in the side but compared to last season, they are conceding more which will give opponents something positive to look at.

Although we can see Villa scoring and giving Liverpool a good game, we think the quality of the Reds will be enough to get another important three points.

● Correct score prediction: Aston Villa 1 – 3 Liverpool
● Odds: 12/1

Brighton v Norwich

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

Brighton would have been left overjoyed after coming from behind in 10 minutes to beat Everton at home. They went behind in the game late on but a lot of characters was shown as they went on to score a last-minute winner to get all three points. If they show the same level this weekend, they have every chance of having a comfortable afternoon.

Norwich are struggling and it is hard to see where they are going to pick up many points this season. They lost again last weekend with Manchester United in town in a game they would have felt they had a good chance of an upset after United’s poor run away from home. If they are to stay in the league, they need to beat teams around them and this is one of those.

We cannot see this one being a Premier League classic but we do think Brighton will have just about enough to get another important three points on the table.

● Correct score prediction: Brighton 1 – 0 Norwich
● Odds: 6/1

Manchester City v Southampton

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

All Manchester City can do now is keep the pressure on Liverpool and hope they make some mistakes between now and the end of the season. City dropped some important points early on which has seen them slip six points adrift of Liverpool but will want to make sure they make no mistakes in games like these otherwise they could make the task to be champions to big, even this early on.

Southampton will not be looking forward to this trip at all after the 9-0 thrashing from Leicester last weekend. If they show that kind of performance again here, they could be looking at another big defeat because Manchester City have so much quality, more than the Leicester side they faced last Friday night. We expect a response from the Saints but a win at City would come as a huge surprise.

Southampton have been struggling and we expect that to continue this weekend. Manchester City are too strong for most of the league and Southampton are one of those.

● Correct score prediction: Manchester City 4 – 0 Southampton
● Odds: 14/1

Sheffield United v Burnley

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

Sheffield United have had a great couple of weeks. Firstly, beating Arsenal in front of their own fans and then a good point away to West Ham last weekend. This has seen them climb up to 8th in the Premier League, which is a start they could have only dreamt of when they were promoted last season. They’ll see this one as a very good chance to keep this run going.

Burnley themselves have had a good season and although they’re 12th, they are just one point behind Sheffield showing how tight it is at the moment. Burnley come into this one off the back of two straight defeats which would have taken a hit to the confidence but if they continue to play well, the results will start to come good again for the side.

With the confidence the Sheffield changing room must have going around at the moment, we can see the momentum carrying them through here and getting another big three points.

● Correct score prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 0 Burnley
● Odds: 8/1

West Ham v Newcastle

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 15:00

After a very quick start from the Hammers, the side are now four games without a win which has seen them slip from the top four to 10th in just a few weeks. They’ll be desperate to get back to winning ways and they have a very good chance of doing just that this weekend Sebastien Haller has started life in London brightly but has gone quiet the last couple of weeks. West Ham will be hoping he starts firing them in again soon.

Newcastle got a point in their last game which was enough to take them out of the bottom three. However, they are just one point above the drop zone as it stands meaning they need to keep picking up regular points to make sure they don’t slip back down into the danger zone. They have shown glimpses of quality this season, especially defensively but a lack of goals is still a problem.

With all that in mind, we can’t see Newcastle having enough creativity to get a goal in this one which is why we think West Ham will steal the points.

● Correct score prediction: West Ham 1 – 0 Newcastle
● Odds: 8/1

Watford v Chelsea

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 2nd November, 17:30

Watford will not know what has hit them so far this season. They are still without a win after 10 matches and have just five points on the board. On the bright side, Watford haven’t lost a game in their last three but also haven’t won which the longer that goes on, the more frustrated they will become and the harder they will find it to get that all-important first win they so desperately need.

Chelsea have been on fire of late and come into this game having won their last four Premier League matches and seven in all competitions. It’s clear for everyone to see that Frank Lampard has got this side playing well and with a lot of youngsters shining through and performing well, it’s very exciting times for Chelsea fans.

We can’t see Chelsea making any mistakes in this one against a weak Watford side.

● Correct score prediction: Watford 0 – 3 Chelsea
● Odds: 14/1

Crystal Palace v Leicester

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Saturday 3rd November, 14:00

Crystal Palace would have gone home very happy with a point after quickly going 2-0 down to Arsenal last Sunday. The character shown to come back at a place like the Emirates shows that Palace are playing without any fear and will take games to anyone, whoever they may be up against. This is a tough game and at the moment possibly tougher than Arsenal.

Leicester put on a record-breaking display last time out as they absolutely smashed Southampton 9-0 away from home to record the highest ever away Premier League win as well as the joint-highest Premier League win home or away. They’ll take a lot of confidence from that game and will want to do something similar to Palace. (Southampton fans will be hoping they do it to someone else sooner rather than later).

Leicester are currently third in the Premier League and looking a very strong side which is why we think they’ll get another three points here.

● Correct score prediction: Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Leicester
● Odds: 9/1

Everton v Tottenham

Kick-off: Gameweek 11, Sunday 3rd November, 16:30

Everton have lost five out of six games coming into this one which included a last-minute defeat away to Brighton last time out which would have been heartbreak for Marco Silva and his players. If this poor run goes on, the more likely it seems Silva will be sacked. He has spent a lot of money over the last couple of years and with the club going backwards rather than forwards, it seems like something needs to change.

Tottenham would have felt unlucky not to get anything from their game away to Liverpool last time out. They played some good football at times and looked very threatening on the counter-attack. Tottenham themselves are having a hard time this season and have fallen down to 11th after 11 games which is not good enough for a side who come runners up in the Champions League last season.

Both sides have been poor so far this season but the better of the two bads have been Tottenham and with the quality, they have on the break, we think they’ll travel back down to London happy.

● Correct score prediction: Everton 1 – 2 Tottenham
● Odds: 12/1
