epl week 10 predictions

Southampton v Leicester

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Friday 25th October, 20:00

Southampton come into this game off the back of a much better display where they got a point away to Wolves. This didn’t make any difference to their league position, but it could have been the boost in confidence they need to start a good run of form which they have been missing for a very long time now. Danny Ings has now scored in his last four Premier League game meaning he’s the man to watch for The Saints.

Leicester are currently third in the Premier League after nine matches which is an unreal start for the Foxes in a start which has similarities to there shock Premier League triumph a few years ago. However, the competition for the title looks to fierce but for a top-four spot, they do look a bit of a threat. If they can keep this form up and continue to win games like these, they have every chance of producing another season to remember.

Southampton looked better last time out and have scored in their last 18 Premier League matches so we expect them to do the same again here, but with the form Leicester are in, we can see them taking all three points.

● Correct score prediction: Southampton 1 – 2 Leicester
● Odds: 10/1

Manchester City v Aston Villa

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Saturday 26th October, 12:30

Manchester City made a bit of ground on Liverpool over the weekend as City beat Crystal Palace with Liverpool falling short away to Manchester United. City will know they cannot afford to make any mistakes in games like this from now until the end of the season if they are to have any chance of closing in on that 6 point lead Liverpool still have at the top of the Premier League.

Aston Villa have looked a lot better in recent games and results have shown that with two wins on the bounce including a thumping 5-1 win over Norwich before the International break. They’ll be hoping to build on that recent form but will know this is a much tougher prospect to what they have been facing of late. They’ll need to have the games of their lives or hope Manchester City have another off day.

We just can’t see Manchester City making any mistakes in this one.

● Correct score prediction: Manchester City 3 – 0 Aston Villa
● Odds: 7/1

Brighton v Everton

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Saturday 26th October, 15:00

After just their second win of the season, Brighton fell to defeat again last time out which has left them hovering just above the relegation zone after nine matches played. They’ll be hoping they can get back to winning ways in this one to give themselves a bit of comfort between themselves and the bottom three.

Everton finally put an end to five straight defeats on the weekend as they beat West Ham at home which is a great result for the club. They showed glimpses of what they are going to be capable of but the problem for Marco Silva’s side is that they are very inconsistentinconsistent. If they play at their best, Everton will make it tough for any side in the Premier League to beat them.

Both teams have had a tough start and both teams confidence will not be at its highest. We can see these two sharing the points.

● Correct score prediction: Brighton 1 – 1 Everton
● Odds: 6/1

Watford v Bournemouth

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Saturday 26th October, 15:00

Watford are still yet to win a Premier League game after 9 matches but did come so very close to doing just that last weekend. They were leading Tottenham away from home up until the 88th minute when VAR awarded a controversial goal to the home side to break the hearts of Watford faithful. With just four points so far, Watford are dead bottom of the Premier League.

Bournemouth now come into this match having been unable to win in their last three matches. Although they’re still 10th if they keep failing to pick up consistent points they will find themselves slipping further and further down the table which has become a regular thing for the Cherries. They’ll see this as a huge chance for three away points but also a big chance to have a slip-up.

When things aren’t going right for aside, it is sometimes very hard for them to pick themselves up and get going. That’s what we see happening for Watford at the moment and what we see carrying on this weekend.

● Correct score prediction: Watford 0 – 1 Bournemouth
● Odds: 14/1

West Ham v Sheffield United

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Saturday 26th October, 15:00

West Ham would have been left bitterly disappointed last weekend as they lost away to Everton. This was the first time their opponents had won in six matches.

They’ll be hoping to produce an instant response this weekend. Hoping to get their first win in four matches as they welcome Sheffield United to the London Stadium.

Confidence couldn’t be higher at Sheffield United coming into this one. Having just beaten Arsenal at home to move them up the Premier League, moving even further away from the bottom three.

Sheffield will want to stay in the league. They look like a side who are playing for each other. Also playing for the manager which can go a very long way for a side who have just come up.

Although Sheffield will be full of confidence, West Ham will be looking for a response and we can see them getting the business done.

● Correct score prediction: West Ham 1 – 0 Sheffield United
● Odds: 8/1

Burnley v Chelsea

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Saturday 26th October, 17:30

Burnley have had a solid start to the Premier League season, much better than this time last year and will be looking to build on that this weekend. At home, they have made it very difficult for any opponent to get something from the game which is what they’ll be looking to do to Chelsea this weekend. Sean Dyche is continuing to do a fantastic job at the club who he got to the Premier League.

Chelsea have started to look like a big threat in the Premier League once again. The Blues come into this one having won four of their last five games in the Premier League. Moving them up to 4th, just two points behind Manchester City in 2nd and eight points behind league leaders, Liverpool. They won’t want to make any mistakes here and although we think it’ll be a tough match for the Blue’s, we can see them coming out on top.

Chelsea’s recent form is really strong meaning confidence will be high. With the youngsters all playing well at the club, we think they’ll get another important three points at Turf Moor.

● Correct score prediction: Burnley 1 – 2 Chelsea
● Odds: 8/1

Newcastle v Wolves

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Sunday 27th October, 14:00

Newcastle have fallen back into the bottom three of the Premier League after picking up just eight points so far this season. Three defeats and a draw in their last five matches means they have been struggling to bit up regular points putting them in this current position. It’s understood fans are becoming increasingly agitated with the manager. This could be a sign of a sacking in coming months.

Wolves had a very slow start but have started to come good again of late. They would have been left very disappointed with only a point at home to Southampton last weekend after having two goals ruled out by VAR in the first half. However, they went 1-0 down and to come back showed good character from Wolverhampton. They will see this as a big chance for three massive away points.

Newcastle have been poor of late but there better performances come when they are at home. With that in mind, we cannot see Wolves losing meaning a draw seems a likely outcome.

● Correct score prediction: Newcastle 1 – 1 Wolves
● Odds: 6/1

Arsenal v Crystal Palace

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Sunday 27th October, 16:30

Arsenal would have been left frustrated and angry after letting another big three points slip away. They travelled to Sheffield on Monday night. They were the 2nd best team on the pitch by a mile. The Gunners didn’t look as if they wanted it anywhere near as much as Sheffield United did. Unai Emery is now under a lot of pressure from fans to start winning games regularly. Failure to do otherwise, we could be coming to the end of his stint in charge at the club.

Crystal Palace lost last at home to Manchester City but in truth, you cannot read to much into that as most sides will come up short against them this season. Palace do like to go away from home and make it very tough for sides to get the better of them and with Arsenal currently going through a tough patch, Palace will make it tough.

Although Arsenal have been poor, we can see Palace coming up just short at the Emirates.

● Correct score prediction: Arsenal 1 – 0 Crystal Palace
● Odds: 10/1

Liverpool v Tottenham

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Sunday 27th October, 16:30

Liverpool are currently six points clear at the top of the Premier League after just nine matches. The Reds have failed to win just one of their opening matches, winning all other eight. They come into this one off the back of a rather poor performance. They would have counted themselves lucky to get a point with Manchester United failing to take advantage of an off day from Liverpool.

Tottenham have been woeful so far this season when compared to previous seasons. However, they find themselves just three points behind rivals Arsenal which they can take confidence from. They won convincingly during the week in the Champions League but the draw at home to bottom of the league, Watford, last weekend would have left them with a sour taste in their mouths. It seems like there’s a lot of work to do for Tottenham at this stage.

We can see Liverpool putting in a strong performance this weekend after the dropped points last weekend. Even if Spurs do decide to turn up, we think this Liverpool side will just be too strong.

● Correct score prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 Tottenham
● Odds: 12/1

Norwich v Manchester United

Kick-off: Gameweek 10, Sunday 27th October, 16:30

Norwich have been having a tough time of late. This team mentality sees them second bottom of the Premier League at this stage of the season. They do tend to turn up on games where they’re not expected to win. Just like the shock win over Manchester City a month or so ago. They will be looking to cause another upset to a Manchester club this weekend. It will be a big ask with the form they have coming into this one.

Manchester United put on a much better display last weekend. The Reds managed a draw with league leaders and arch-rivals, Liverpool. Not being able to hold onto that lead after being the much better team would have frustrated Ole Gunnar Soljskaer. They’ve got a long way to go to start challenging for the top four. Let alone the title but many have faith in Ole and what he is trying to do at the club.

Norwich have found the last few weeks tough and with United getting confidence from the performance last weekend, we expect the home side to struggle again.

● Correct score prediction: Norwich 1 – 3 Manchester United
● Odds: 14/1
