Leicester Vs Newcastle
Leicester City saw their winning run grind to a halt when Chelsea visited the King Power Stadium on Wednesday. The Foxes are one point clear of the Drop Zone and welcome an out of form Newcastle side hoping to get back to winning ways. The Magpies are in freefall and are not clear of Relegation worries of their own. 8 consecutive Premier League defeats has seen Newcastle tumble down the standings and they are only 5 points clear of Sunderland in 18th place. Home win expected – Back a Leicester win here.
Prediction 2-1 –
Aston Villa Vs Everton
Aston Villa put up a valiant fight at Manchester City but were unable to keep City out with the scores level at 2-2. Tim Sherwood has done a terrific job at Villa Park but will only consider his tenure a success if he can keep Villa in the Premier League. Everton are top of the Form Table with 5 wins from their last 6 Premiership matches. Toffees fans will be wishing their side could have shown this level of performance all Season long. An impressive 3-0 win over Manchester United last weekend will fill Everton with confidence heading to Villa Park. All square – Back a draw here.
Prediction 1-1 –
Liverpool Vs QPR
Liverpool have seen their Top 4 ambitions crumble in the last few weeks following a string of disappointing results. The Reds have picked up just a single Premier League win in their last five outings and crashed out of the FA Cup at the Semi Final stage. Seven points adrift of fourth place Manchester United sees Liverpool playing only for a Europa League berth. Queens Park Rangers meanwhile are playing for their Premier League survival. The Rs were unable to find a goal against West Ham and ended up sharing the spoils at Loftus Road. Rangers are four points from safety and have a daunting trip to Manchester City up next. Home win expected at Anfield.
Prediction 2-0 –
Sunderland Vs Southampton
Sunderland have plenty of work to do if they are to clinch Premier League survival. The Black Cats picked up a point last weekend with a hard fought 1-1 draw at Stoke. Despite that, The Mackems remain in the Relegation Zone and need to pick up points to avoid Championship football next Season. Southampton have enjoyed an excellent campaign thus far and could yet finish 5th in the Premiership. The Saints have kept pace with Tottenham and Liverpool who were tipped by some for a Top 4 finish. Southampton have lost three of their last four premier League outings on the road. Huge win to boost Sunderland’s hopes of avoiding Relegation.
Prediction 1-0 –
Swansea Vs Stoke
Swansea City picked up an impressive win when they travelled to Newcastle in Gameweek 34. The Swans are in good form at present and have lost just one of their last five in the Premier League both home and away. After a solid campaign Garry Monk will be determined to secure a Top 10 finish for his side. Stoke have had another trademark Season in the top flight. Despite many ridiculing their style of football, Stoke are in the top half of the Table and in no danger of Relegation. Stoke have struggled away from home lately and Swansea will look to capitalise. All square at The Liberty Stadium – Back a stalemate here.
Prediction 0-0 –
West Ham Vs Burnley
West Ham United are in poor form right now and have failed to register a goal in either of their last two Premier League matches. The Hammers faithful have long been unimpressed with Sam Allardyce’s brand of football and a poor run of form could lend weight to the section of fans who would like to see a managerial change. Burnley are rooted to the foot of the Premier League and would love to have the ‘problems’ West Ham are facing. The Clarets have a mountain to climb if they are to avoid an immediate return to The Championship. Sean Dyche’s side could provide an upset here against a West Ham side with nothing but pride to play for.
Prediction 1-0 –
Manchester United Vs West Brom
Manchester United succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park leaving them in fourth place after two consecutive defeats. The Red Devils will want to finish in the Top 3 to ensure direct qualification to the Champions League Group Stage. United have been in excellent form at home and will hope to put pressure on Arsenal and City who play later in the Gameweek. West Brom put their three game losing streak behind them to pick up four points from their games against Liverpool and Crystal Palace. The Baggies are 7 points clear of the Relegation Zone heading into this fixture.
Prediction 3-0
Chelsea Vs Crystal Palace
Chelsea bounced back from a losing situation in style to collect three points from their midweek trip to Leicester City. The Blues were able to silence critics who labelled them boring with some excellent football and a screamer from Ramires. Victory on Sunday will hand Chelsea their first Premier League title since 2010. Crystal Palace will hope to put the Chelsea celebrations on ice by preventing the home side from picking up all three points. The Eagles have lost two in a row and have failed to find the net in either of their last two outings. Didier Drogba got Chelsea back on level terms on Wednesday and looks poised to start again.
Prediction 2-0 –
Spurs Vs Manchester City
Super Sunday continues with Spurs hosting Manchester City at White Hart Lane. Tottenham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Southampton in Gameweek 34 which left them 6th in the Premier League heading into this clash with Manchester City who may have lost their crown before this match kicks off. Manuel Pelligrini’s side have been a disappointment this Season and have much work to do in the off-season if they are to challenge for the title next Season. City will now be focused on securing a Top 3 finish to try and avoid a potentially awkward Champions League qualifier.
Prediction 1-1
Hull Vs Arsenal
Monday Night Football returns with Hull hosting Arsenal looking to pick up their third consecutive win in the Premier League. The Tigers have kept two clean sheets in their last two outings and will need to be at their very best to shut out an Arsenal side who have been in excellent form themselves. The Gunners winning run was halted by Chelsea who were able to secure a 0-0 draw from their trip to The Emirates. Arsene Wenger’s side could be in 4th place heading into this fixture and will want to secure a Top 3 finish to ensure direct qualification to the Champions League Group Stage.
Prediction 1-2 –
