QPR Vs Spurs
Queens Park Rangers lost their third match in a row at Loftus Road when Arsenal visited mid-week. The R’s have a mountain to climb if they are to play Premier League football next Season. Rangers are finding it difficult to score goals finding the net just twice in their last five matches at home. Spurs make the short trip to QPR on the back of a 3-2 win over Swansea on Wednesday. The Lilywhites are in the mix for a Top 4 finish but need a sustained run of wins if they are to leapfrog the sides above them. Harry Kane will be a handful for QPR and I expect an away win at Loftus Road – Back a Spurs win here.
Aston Villa Vs West Brom
Aston Villa maintained their miserable run of form with a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday. The Villains have managed just two goals from their last five fixtures at Villa Park and need to improve their form before losing touch with the pack. West Brom picked up an important 1-0 win when Southampton visited The Hawthorns which saw them extend their unbeaten run to four Premier League matches. The Baggies have drawn four in a row on the road and I can see this match ending all square – Back a bore draw here.
Hull Vs Sunderland
Hull City were unable to keep Stoke at bay and went down 1-0 at The Britannia in Gameweek 27. The Tigers need to get back to winning ways promptly if they are to put some daylight between themselves and the Relegation Zone. Sunderland are another side looking to give themselves some breathing room between themselves and the bottom three. The Black Cats went down 2-0 at Manchester United. Wes Brown will sit this match out through suspension despite John O’Shea conceding a penalty on Saturday. Home win expected – Back a Hull City victory here.
Southampton Vs Crystal Palace
Southampton have run into a poor patch of form at exactly the wrong time with the Premier League season approaching the final ten fixtures. The Saints have won just a single game from their last five outings scoring one goal in the process. Crystal Palace are riding high following their impressive 3-1 win at West Ham in Gameweek 27. The Eagles have won three on the bounce away from home and will fancy their chances of capitalising on a Southampton side struggling for form. Away win expected – Back a Crystal Palace victory here.
Manchester City Vs Leicester
Manchester City were well beaten when they visited high-flying Liverpool on Super Sunday. Manuel Pelligrini’s side seemed short of ideas when they were struggling to break down Liverpool’s resolute defence. The reigning Champions need to bounce back immediately if they are to reel in Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table. Leicester City enjoyed a weekend off due to Chelsea’s Capital One Cup commitments. The Foxes picked up a 2-2 at Everton in their last Premier League clash but are less likely to get anything from their trip to The Etihad Stadium. Comfortable Home win expected – Back a Manchester City win.
Newcastle Vs Manchester United
Newcastle United have all but secured Premier League football for another Season following their 1-0 win over Aston Villa in Gameweek 27. The Magpies are in good form, particularly at home where they have been beaten just once in five Premier League outings. Manchester United were able to see off Sunderland despite missing Robin Van Persie through injury. Wayne Rooney was on target twice to fire The Red Devils to a much needed victory. With the race for a Top 4 berth heating up United will be hoping to pick up three points. Score draw expected at St James’ Park – Back a draw here.
QPR Vs Arsenal
Queens Park Rangers did not drop into the Relegation Zone despite not featuring in Gameweek 27 due to Tottenham’s Cup Final appearance. Rangers must improve their home form which has seen them go four Premier League matches without a victory at Loftus Road. Arsenal visit Loftus Road following a routine 2-0 win over Everton on Super Sunday. The Gunners are leading the pack chasing a Champions League berth after Chelsea and Manchester City. Arsene Wenger’s side have won three on the spin and will be confident of making it four in a row – Away win expected – Back an Arsenal victory here.
Spurs Vs Swansea
Tottenham Hotspur sat out Premier League action in Gameweek 27 due to their Cup Final commitments. The Lilywhites came up short against a very disciplined Chelsea side but must bounce back immediately to maintain their Top 4 push. Swansea City visit North London looking for their third consecutive win following victories over Manchester United and Burnley. The Swans will hope that Spurs have yet to recover from their Wembley defeat. Spurs have won three of their last four at home and are favourites for this clash – Back a Tottenham Hotspur victory here.
Stoke Vs Everton
Stoke are in very encouraging form and have been on the losing side just once in their last six Premier League encounters. The Potters will look to take full advantage of an Everton side struggling for confidence having lost five of their last six away fixtures in the Premier League. The Toffees have struggled to build any momentum this Season and are stranded in the bottom half of the Premiership. Roberto Martinez has seen his side struggle for goals lately and I expect Stoke to pick up a win here – Back a Stoke win here.
West Ham Vs Chelsea
West Ham United were well beaten when Crystal Palace visited East London in Gameweek 27. Big Sam will demand an immediate response from his side as The Hammers look to end a poor run of form which has seen them go five Premier League outing without a victory. Chelsea will come into this fixture brimming with confidence having bagged the first silverware of the 2014/2015 campaign. The Blues will look to capitalise on Manchester City’s result at Liverpool at the weekend which saw Chelsea take pole position for the Premier League crown. Chelsea to punish a West Ham side in poor form – Back a Chelsea win here.
Liverpool Vs Burnley
Liverpool were the toast of Merseyside and West London on Sunday as they defeated Premier League hopefuls Manchester City at Anfield. Brendan Rodgers’ side have been in terrific form lately and are looking like a solid bet in the race for a Top 4 finish. Burnley threw away a great chance to leapfrog QPR and dig themselves out of the bottom three when they lost at home to Swansea on Saturday. The Clarets have plenty to do to ensure Premier League football returns to Turf Moor next season and will likely come away from Anfield empty handed. Home win expected – Back a Liverpool win here.
