Premier League Football gets underway earlier than usual in Gameweek 2 with a Friday evening fixture between Aston Villa and Manchester United. The Villains got off to the perfect start with a 1-0 away win at Bournemouth in Gameweek 1. Tim Sherwood will be hoping his side can avoid the Relegation dogfight they found themselves in last term. Manchester United were also 1-0 winners when Tottenham travelled to Old Trafford. Southampton Vs Everton

Southampton took an early lead at Newcastle but ended up settling for a share of the spoils in the North East. Long and Pelle were on the scoresheet for The Saints and will prove to get a number of goals this Season if they can both remain fit. Everton were also held to a 2-2 draw when Watford visited Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees got off to a slow start last Season and were never able to get their Season back on track. Roberto Martinez will be mindful to avoid a repeat scenario this Season. Southampton were difficult to beat at home last year and I expect more of the same this Season – Back a home win here.

Tottenham Hotspur Vs Stoke

Tottenham Hotspur started their opening game brightly at Old Trafford but ended up on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat following an unfortunate Kyle Walker own-goal. Spurs will want to bounce back immediately when Stoke visit White Hart Lane in order to keep pace with the leading pack. Stoke seemed to be heading for a stalemate against Liverpool until Coutinho broke the deadlock with a great strike to leave Stoke empty-handed. The Potters will remain without skipper Ryan Shawcross through injury. Home win expected in North London – Back a Tottenham victory here.

Sunderland Vs Norwich

Sunderland fans were hoping for a fresh start this Season after a miserable 2014/2015 campaign but were left deflated following a 4-2 defeat at Leicester on the opening day of the Season. The Black Cats have an opportunity to pick up three points when newly promoted Norwich visit on Saturday. The Canaries were well beaten by crystal Palace in Gameweek 1 and will be determined to turn things around promptly before tough matches against Stoke and Southampton. Swansea Vs Newcastle

Swansea host their first game of the Season looking to build on the hard earned draw they picked up at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Garry Monk’s side picked up where they left off last Season and gave Chelsea a stern test picking up a well deserved point. Newcastle also registered a point in Steve McClarens first fixture in charge at St James’ Park. Watford Vs West Brom

Watford picked up a creditable draw when they visited Everton in Gameweek 1. The Hornets now host their first game of the Premier League Season hoping to go one better when hosting West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies got off to a miserable start when they hosted Manchester City on Monday Night Football. West Ham Vs Leicester

West Ham United provided the shock result of Gameweek 1 by picking up a 2-0 away win at The Emirates on Super Sunday. The Hammers may have benefitted from additional match fitness having played Europa League qualifiers and punished Petr Cech for some poor goalkeeping. Leicester City got off to a great start under Claudio Ranieri by winning 4-2 over Sunderland at The King Power Stadium. Crystal Palace Vs Arsenal

Crystal Palace got their Season off to the perfect start with a 3-1 win away at Norwich in Gameweek 1. The Eagles will benefit greatly from having a full Pre-Season with Alan Pardew and new signing Cabaye found the net in his first Premier League outing as a Palace player. Arsenal were tipped by many to be genuine title contenders but they fluffed their lines in their opening fixture against West Ham. Manchester City Vs Chelsea

Manchester City got their title challenge off to the perfect start when they visited West Bromwich albion on Monday Night Football and coasted to a 3-0 win. Manuel Pelligrini’s side have an early chance to put clear daylight between themselves and the defending Champions Chelsea who visit The Etihad on Super Sunday. Chelsea stumbled to a 2-2 draw against Swansea on the opening day. Courtois was sent off in that game and sits this out through suspension. Liverpool seemed to be heading for a 0-0 stalemate with Stoke before Coutinho stunned The Britannia with a fantastic long range strike.
