Chelsea Vs West Ham

Stamford Bridge hosts the opening Boxing Day fixture hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. Chelsea were able to move clear at the top of the Premiership following their win at Stoke in Gameweek 17. The Blues have been outstanding at home and have won all 6 of their last 6 outings at Stamford Bridge in the League. West Ham make the short trip across London following an impressive 2-0 win over Leicester at the weekend. The Hammers spent Christmas Day in the Top 4 as a result of that win but will struggle against a Chelsea side which is full of World class players at every position. Home win expected for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Prediction 2-0

Burnley Vs Liverpool

Burnley went down fighting at Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 17 and ended up losing 2-1 away from home. The Clarets have been in good form at Turf Moor and remain unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches on home soil. Despite the improved form Burnley fans will spend Christmas Day in the Relegation Zone following a disastrous start to the season. Brendan Rodgers has also struggled in the first half of the Season. His Liverpool side enter Gameweek 18 sitting in 10th place in the Premier League following their 2-2 against Arsenal on Sunday. Mario Balotelli has been a huge flop since his arrival and the continued absence of Daniel Sturridge is a huge loss for Liverpool. Score draw expected.

Prediction 1-1

Crystal Palace Vs Southampton

Crystal Palace were able to get to the half time interval all square at Manchester City before a second half collapse saw them succumb to a 3-0 defeat at the home of the reigning Champions. The Eagles have not enjoyed a great campaign thus far and are only above the Relegation Zone by virtue of their goal difference. Southampton were finally able to break their losing streak with a very impressive 3-0 win over Everton on Saturday. The Saints will hope to follow that result up with a good away performance at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day. Away win for Ronald Koeman’s side.

Prediction 1-2

Everton Vs Stoke

Everton went down 3-0 at Southampton on Saturday and will want to get back to winning ways when they welcome Stoke to Goodison Park on Boxing Day. The Toffees are stuck in mid-table following a poor start to their Premier League campaign. Roberto Martinez has seen his side perform well at home recently and will want to take advantage of Stoke’s poor form on the road this season. The Potters have picked up just a single point from their last three matches on the road and will find the going tough on Merseyside. Home win expected at Goodison Park.

Prediction 1-0

Leicester Vs Spurs

Leicester were well beaten when they visited West Ham in Gameweek 17. The Foxes have been been in dreadful form lately losing 5 of Premier League games on the spin. As a result, Leicester spent Christmas Day on the foot of the Premier League table facing an uphill battle to avoid Relegation. Tottenham visit The King Power stadium looking to add to Leicester’s woes and are in good form themselves. Spurs have lost just one of their last six Premiership games and have won three of their last four away matches. Harry Kane was on target once again on Saturday and Leicester will need to pay special attention to the Tottenham forward man. Away win expected.

Prediction 0-2

Manchester United Vs Newcastle

Manchester United were unable to overcome a resolute Aston Villa despite playing against 10 men for a portion of the second half. Louis Van Gaal was left to rue missed opportunities which could have seen his side extend their impressive winning run. Despite a difficult start to the Season the Red Devils sit 3rd in the table over Christmas and look like a good bet to land a Champions League berth next term. Newcastle United have been very good at home but have struggled on the road recently. The Magpies will be deflated following their loss against arch-rivals Sunderland on Sunday. Home win expected at Old Trafford.

Prediction 3-0

Sunderland Vs Hull

Sunderland fans were even happier during their Christmas lunch following their derby win at Newcastle in Gameweek 17. The Black Cats return to The Stadium of Light hoping to secure their first win since the 3-1 win over Stoke back in October. Hull were beaten infront of their own fans by Swansea in Gameweek 17. Steve Bruce has seen his side go without a win since early October which has pushed them down into the Relegation Zone over the Christmas period. I predict a stalemate in the North East.

Prediction 0-0

Swansea Vs Aston Villa

Swansea picked up a good win at Hull in Gameweek 17 and moved onto 25 points approaching the midway point in the Season. The Swans have been in good form at home lately despite a last minute defeat when Spurs visited The Liberty Stadium in Gameweek 16. Aston Villa held out for a point against Manchester United on Saturday. Gabriel Agbonlahor was dismissed in that match and will sit this out through suspension as a result of the red card. This match looks like a tall order for Aston Villa who will hope Christian Benteke can find the net with regularity following his return from injury. Home win expected.

Prediction 1-0

West Brom Vs Manchester City

West Brom narrowly lost out when they visited QPR in Gameweek 17. Despite scoring twice, the Baggies were unable to contain Charlie Austin who bagged a hat-trick, the match ball and three points for Rangers. Albion have to get back on track quickly before the reigning Champions visit on Boxing Day. Manchester City despatched Crystal Palace 3-0 despite playing without a recognised striker with Aguero out injured. City will hope to keep the pressure on Chelsea who face a difficult away trip to Southampton on Sunday. Away win expected at The Hawthorns.

Prediction 0-2

Arsenal Vs QPR

Arsenal faced a difficult away trip to Liverpool on Sunday and came away with a single following their 2-2 draw. The Gunners host QPR on Boxing Day hoping to string together a sequence of three home Premier League wins on the bounce. The Gunners will fancy their chances of finding the net against a fairly weak QPR defence. Rangers picked up an important win in their last match thanks to a hat-trick from Charlie Austin. Harry Redknapp’s side have been very solid at home but disastrous on the road losing all of their last six matches away from home. Home win expected at The Emirates.

Prediction 2-0
