Sunderland Vs West Brom

Sunderland climbed to 15th in the table following an impressive 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage last weekend. Steven Fletcher was back on the scoresheet and he is key to Sunderland’s season. West Brom rode their luck at times to record a 2-1 victory over Chelsea. The Baggies occupy 4th spot heading into this game and could leapfrog Chelsea into 3rd if they win at The Stadium of Light.

Everton Vs Norwich

Everton were defeated at Reading in Gameweek 12 and will want to get back to winning ways at Goodison Park. Fellaini is suspended for this game and David Moyes will need to shuffle his pack. Norwich produced the surprise of last weekend defeating Manchester United at Carrow Road. That result moved The Canaries 5 points clear of the relegation zone. Should be an intriguing match. Jelavic to score anytime.

Manchester United Vs QPR

Manchester United were poor at Norwich and paid the price as Pilkington scored a fantastic header. Following their midweek defeat United have lost 2 games in a row. QPR are already looking certain to go down and need a drastic turn around if they are to escape the mess they are in. Unfortunately, a trip to United is not likely to be yield any points. Fergie will be all too aware that United conceded the title on goal difference last Season. I expect United to go for the jugular if they take an early lead. RVP to score anytime.

Stoke Vs Fulham

Stoke visited West Ham on Monday night and took an early lead before drawing the match. Fulham were defeated following the dismissal of their Captain Hangeland for a tackle which the referee deemed two footed. The Skipper will start his suspension for this game and Stoke may profit from his absence at set pieces. Crouch will be a major threat to Mark Schwarzer’s goal at The Britannia.

Wigan Vs Reading

Wigan were well beaten on Saturday losing 3-0 at Anfield. Luis Suarez was on top form and helped himself to two goals leaving Wigan unable to respond. Reading beat Everton 2-1 in a result which moved Reading out of the drop zone on goal difference. The Royals still have a game in hand and need every opportunity to rack up points. Kone has impressed this season and he will be hoping to score at The DW Stadium.

Aston Villa Vs Arsenal

Aston Villa were demolished at The Etihad last weekend when Tevez and Aguero scored two goals each in a 5-0 defeat. That defeat moved Villa into the relegation zone and they are 2 points from safety. Arsenal won the North London Derby 5-2 following the dismissal of Adebayor and will want to build on that success. Villa may be able to produce a shock against more fancied opposition here.

Swansea Vs Liverpool

Swansea produced an impressive 2-1 victory away at Newcastle last weekend. The Swans will now welcome former manager Brendan Rodgers to The Liberty Stadium for his first visit to the ‘Away’ dugout. The Reds enjoyed a convincing win last weekend but are still in the bottom half of the table. Suarez is one booking away from a domestic ban and Liverpool are relying heavily on him to produce the goods upfront. I expect this to be a close and entertaining match.

Southampton Vs Newcastle

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins relieved the pressure on him slightly with a  3-1 win away at QPR last weekend. The Saints are now 3 points from safety and will hope to get something from this match. Newcastle make the long trip South having suffered a dip in form which leaves them 12th in the standings. Cisse was forced to miss out last weekend and influential midfielder Cabaye is ruled out through injury. Following Europa league exploits, Ben Arfa and Cisse look likely to miss out here too. Could go either way but I am backing a home win.

Chelsea Vs Man City

Chelsea have suffered a dip in form at the wrong time and manager Roberto di Matteo has lost his job as a result. 2 points from 4 league games has seen Chelsea throw away their lead at the summit and they are all but out of the Champions League. Rafa Benitez must get a win here to get things back on track and win over a sceptical home crowd who are less than delighted about his appointment. Manchester City are also likely to be heading out of the Champions League and both teams need a boost in the League. 5-0 winners last weekend, City will be high on confidence as they visit Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham Vs West Ham

Spurs face their second London Derby in the space of 8 days when West Ham make the short journey to White Hart Lane. Spurs lost at Arsenal following Adebayor’s dismissal and he will start his suspension. Defoe will lead the line against his former employers. West Ham are currently ahead of Spurs in the table and will be keen to maintain or extend that lead. Andy Carroll will be a threat to Caulker and Gallas at the back.
