Newcastle Vs Liverpool

Newcastle United produced the shock result of Gameweek 9 by beating Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. Alan Pardew’s side have now won back-to-back Premier League games which has propelled them up to 14th in the table. The Magpies face another stern test when Brendan Rodgers brings his Liverpool side to The North East. The Reds struggled again without the injured Daniel Sturridge who has been ruled out of this clash due to an ongoing injury problem. Mario Balotelli continues to polarise opinion as he persistently fails to find the net in a Liverpool jersey. Newcastle could cause another upset here.

Prediction 1-1

Arsenal Vs Burnley

Arsenal quietly went about their business in Gameweek 9 by beating Sunderland at The Stadium of Light to move level on points with Liverpool and leapfrog Manchester United in the Premier League table. Arsene Wenger’s side have drawn three consecutive league matches at The Emirates and know that only victories will suffice if they are to mount a serious challenge for a Top 3 finish. Burnley went behind within five minutes against Everton and were never able to recover from the early setback. The Clarets are struggling to make the step up from Championship football and are 3 points adrift at the foot of the Premier League table heading into Gameweek 10. Alexis Sanchez could add to his goal tally on Saturday. Home win expected.

Prediction 3-0

Chelsea Vs QPR

Chelsea were just minutes away from a very good win at Old Trafford before Manchester United struck back late on to grab a share of the spoils. The Blues remain unbeaten despite visiting United and City and faced The Red Devils with Drogba as their only attacking option with Costa and Remy out injured. Jose Mourinho’s side will be eager to bounce back against London rivals QPR and will welcome Costa back to the squad. Harry Redknapp’s side picked up their first victory of the Season on Monday Night Football. The R’s beat Aston Villa 2-0 to move onto a tally of 7 points so far this term. Rangers could give Chelsea a decent game but I expect the home side to emerge victorious.

Prediction 2-0

Everton Vs Swansea

Everton seem to have put a lacklustre start to the Premier League season behind them by winning two consecutive games. The Toffees picked up an excellent win at Burnley winning by a comfortable 3-1 margin. Samuel Eto’o was in fine form and Swansea will have a tough task keeping him and Lukaku quiet at Goodison Park. Swansea City finally got back to winning ways after going five games without a victory. Wilfried Bony bagged a brace to see off Leicester in Gameweek 9 and will be a real handful for the Everton rearguard. Garry Monk’s side have lost two of their last three fixtures on the road and I expect a narrow home win on Merseyside.

Prediction 2-1

Hull Vs Southampton

Hull picked up an unlikely and unexpected point from their trip to Liverpool in Gameweek 9. The Tigers have accumulated an impressive 11 points from their opening 9 fixtures leaving them sitting 10th in the Premier League heading into their clash with Southampton on Saturday afternoon. The Saints visit Hull following their 1-0 win over Stoke on Saturday. Southampton have won 5 of their last 6 matches and are in red hot form under Ronald Koeman. Steve Bruce’s side have been beaten just once on home soil this campaign and I expect them to hold out for a draw against The Saints.

Prediction 1-1

Leicester Vs West Brom

Leicester City are finding the Premier League a difficult place to win football matches. The Foxes have picked up just two victories since their return to the top flight and are flirting with the Relegation Zone. Nigel Pearson has seen his side lose three of their last four and needs to stop the rot before confidence drains from the squad. The visit of West Brom could give Leicester an opportunity to bag a win as The Baggies have not travelled well this Season. Albion rescued a draw despite trailing late on against Crystal Palace on Saturday and will attempt to take confidence from that result. Home win expected.

Prediction 1-0

Stoke Vs West Ham

Stoke City have got back to their normal selves when playing at The Britannia. Two narrow victories in their last two home fixtures is what the Stoke faithful are more accustomed to seeing from their side. Mark Hughes will be weary of a West Ham side who will be brimming with confidence following their win over The Champions in Gameweek 9. The Hammers moved to a very impressive 4th place in the Premier League with that victory over Manchester City. Big Sam’s side have won three on the bounce and four of their last five in the Premier League. Sakho has been key for West Ham and The Hammers will hope he can shake off a shoulder problem for this game. All square at The Britannia.

Prediction 1-1

Manchester City Vs Manchester United

Super Sunday kicks off with a mouth watering clash at The Etihad Stadium. Manchester City have already fallen six points off the pace set by early leaders Chelsea as a result of their defeat at West Ham on Saturday. Arch-rivals United actually did their noisy neighbours a favour by grabbing an equaliser against Chelsea to prevent the gap being 8 points. Aguero is in red hot form and will fancy his chances of filling his boots against a shaky looking United defence. United have reason to be optimistic heading into this clash. The Red Devils are unbeaten in four matches and City have lost three in a row. Van Gaal will welcome back Rooney and Falcao from suspension and injury respectively. David Silva is ruled out for City with Yaya Toure listed as questionable for the Manchester Derby. United are without a win on the road this Season and I expect City to get back to winning ways.

Prediction 3-0

Aston Villa Vs Tottenham Hotspur

Aston Villa are in freefall having lost five Premier League games in a row. After a good start Paul Lambert has seen his side plummet to 15th in the League standings. The Villains have hosted Arsenal and Manchester City at Villa Park and may feel they have a better chance of picking up points against Tottenham on Sunday. Spurs have been in shaky form themselves of late and could be visiting Villa Park at exactly the right time as far as the home team are concerned. Two consecutive defeats and a single win from their last six Premier League matches leaves Spurs in the bottom half of the League table ahead of their visit to The Midlands. Score draw at Villa Park.

Prediction 1-1

Crystal Palace Vs Sunderland

Monday Night Football returns when Sunderland make the long trip South to visit Crystal Palace. The Eagles were on the verge of an impressive win at West Brom before conceding a late penalty which Berahino converted for The Baggies. Palace are only one point clear of the drop zone heading into Gameweek 10 and would love to give themselves breathing room. Sunderland were unable to bounce back from their 8-0 drubbing at Southampton when Arsenal visited The Stadium of Light. The Gunners despatched Gus Poyet’s side 2-0 leaving The Black Cats in the Relegation Zone ahead of their Monday Night clash. Home win expected at Selhurst Park.

Prediction 2-0
