Taking the Premier League standings as they are, one might easily conclude that the season is already decided, with Chelsea way out in front and a big gap between the top four and the chasing pack. There are many people who still feel that Chelsea may not win the league this year. Chelsea still have three huge games to play in the league against Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool, with tough away games at both Leicester and West Brom. They also have to face Crystal Palace at home, who have proven to be one of the most dangerous counter-attacking sides in the league.
Many feel as though Chelsea have won it, and it will be a huge shock if they don’t manage to win the title, however, they also have to manage their injury problems, with a squad over-reliant on certain key players. Diego Costa’s recent injury has given Mourinho a real headache when it comes to getting goals, with the team having to rely on an ageing Didier Drogba in key games.
Over the next two weeks, Chelsea have to face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, before travelling to the Emirates to face Arsenal the week after. A few mistakes over these two games and the league will have a completely different complexion. Chelsea will still have a healthy lead but the pressure will then be on them and they not be able to handle the tension.
