Arsenal begin their campaign on Saturday when Sunderland visit The Emirates. Arsenal fans will be keen to see their new signings continue their form which has been promising in pre season. Arsenal will have to get used to life without Robin Van Persie fast. Sunderland have had a quiet close-season and will be looking to improve upon their 13th placed finish last season. Arsenal should win this comfortably.

Prediction 3-1 with Podolski scoring anytime.

Fulham and Norwich both enjoyed an encouraging 2011-2012 season finishing 9th and 12th respectively. Craven Cottage was a difficult place to pick up points and Fulham will look to capitalize on their strong home form. Norwich surpassed expectations last season and played some tidy football along the way. Anything they can take from West London will be a welcome start to the season for the Canaries.

Prediction 1-1

Queens Park Rangers played their part in one of the most memorable Premier League games ever on 13th May at The Etihad. Although losing, Rangers were able to avoid relegation and secure top flight football. The QPR fans will be keen to get 3 points on the board at Loftus Road. Swansea played some great football last season to finish 11th. Unfortunately for Swansea, Liverpool have poached Brendan Rodgers which may see results decline on the pitch.

Prediction 2-1

Reading will be keen to announce their return to the big time with a victory over Stoke at The Madejski. Unfortunately for Reading, Stoke have a hard earned reputation for being difficult to beat. Tony Pulis will expect his team to improve upon their 14th place finish last season. Both sides will think they can grab 3 points here but I expect the match to end in a draw.

Prediction 1-1

West Brom will play their first Premier League game since the departure of Roy Hodgson at The Hawthorns on Saturday. Visiting this weekend are Liverpool who had a torrid campaign which couldn’t end soon enough. The Reds finished 8th, a whopping 37 points behind the leader. This ended King Kenny’s reign at Anfield and Brendan Rodgers has since taken over. Luis Suarez has penned a new contract with Liverpool and I expect him to be prolific this season.

Prediction 1-2 with Suarez scoring anytime.

Despite topping The Championship for much of 2011-2012, West Ham secured promotion through the Playoffs. They are actively looking to strengthen their squad and have reportedly made an offer for Liverpool misfit Andy Carroll. Aston Villa suffered a miserable season and only avoided relegation by 2 points. A lack of investment in players and the absence of inspirational captain Petrov will hamper Villa’s chances of improving on last season. I expect West Ham to kick off their season in style at Upton Park.

Prediction 3-1 with Nolan scoring anytime

Newcastle fans must have spent much of the 2011-2012 season pinching themselves. Their performances saw them finish in 5th position, above European Champions Chelsea in 6th. I will be surprised if Newcastle can repeat this impressive feat given they have not added significantly to their squad. Tottenham were incredibly unlucky to miss out on Champions League football despite finishing 4th. Spurs are in need of a proven goal scorer before the close of the transfer window. They will need time to adapt to AVB’s style of play and this may game may come too quickly for Spurs.

Prediction 2-1 with Demba Ba scoring anytime

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan’s faith in Roberto Martinez was rewarded as The Latics avoided the drop. They had an amazing run of results which kept them up against all odds. Chelsea had a poor campaign by their standards finishing 6th. Only by winning the European Cup in Munich are they back in Europe’s top Club Competition. Victor Moses appears to be a Chelsea transfer target and it remains to be seen what shirt he will be wearing on Sunday. Chelsea will be hoping Fernando Torres can build upon his goal in the FA Charity Shield.

Prediction 1-2 with Torres scoring anytime.

Manchester City kick off their title defence by welcoming Premier League newcomers Southampton to The Etihad. City will be keen to put pressure on Manchester United by notching up their first win of the Campaign. Southampton will look to do themselves justice but couldn’t have had a tougher start to the Season. I predict a comfortable home win which will put 3 points on the board for Roberto Mancini’s men.

Prediction 3-1 with Aguero scoring anytime

Everton welcome Manchester United to Goodison Park for the first installment of Monday Night Football this season. The Toffees have a reputation for being slow starters in August and this will be a huge challenge for them. David Moyes has once again had little to work with in the transfer market. Manchester United will be keen to partner new signing Robin Van Persie with Wayne Rooney in this match. I predict Manchester United will get the better of Everton in this fixture.

Prediction 1-2 with Rooney scoring anytime.
