EPL week 17 predictions

Manchester City vs Everton

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend as Chelsea put on a great performance to beat the champions 2-0. With that still fresh in the back of the player’s mind, they will be desperate to get back to winning ways to keep the pressure on now top of the league, Liverpool.

Everton were lucky in there last game with a last-minute equaliser gaining them a point at home to Watford. With the goal coming so late, it would have felt like a victory for the side which would have given them a much-needed lift going into this game with Manchester City. If they are to get anything, they must be at there absolute best.

With Manchester City coming into this one off the back of a defeat, we think that will make them
come out in this one even stronger. Everton will make it a good game but will come out short.

● Correct score prediction: Manchester City 2 – 1 Everton
● Odds: 11/1

Crystal Palace vs Leicester

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Crystal Palace suffered yet another defeat on the weekend. It would have been even harder to take after going in front and dominating much of the first half. However, they still went on to lose the match 3-2 which would have taken its toll on the confidence of the players. This has seen them slip back down to 16th and two points off the bottom three.

Leicester suffered there first defeat in six on the weekend as Tottenham beat them at home. Although they were beaten and beat quite comfortably, they will still be full of confidence from the form beforehand. They were also without Vardy against Spurs which proved to be a big miss. The Foxes will hope he’s fit to return this weekend ahead of this clash.

Although Crystal Palace have some good players within the squad, they have really been struggling to perform. Leicester, on the other hand, have been consistent and will want to maintain that Saturday.

● Correct score prediction: Crystal Palace 0 – 1 Leicester
● Odds: 6/1

Huddersfield vs Newcastle

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Huddersfield went on a good run which sore them climb off the bottom of the table and out the bottom three. However, they have now sunk back into 18th having lost three on the bounce. Last time out they were unlucky to get something away at the Emirates and may be knocked by conceding late in that game.

Newcastle are another side who have started to slip back down the table having failed to win any of there previous three games. Just like Huddersfield, Newcastle will see this as a perfect chance to get three points on the board to climb back away from the bottom three. Rafa Benitez has been in the press this week asking for VAR to be introduced earlier after a wrong decision in there last match. Will the Spaniard get the last laugh this weekend?

We can see this being a very close encounter between two teams who could be fighting for survival come to the end of the season.

● Correct score prediction: Huddersfield 1 – 1 Newcastle
● Odds: 8/1

Tottenham vs Burnley

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Tottenham managed to beat Leicester without Harry Kane and Eriksen in the starting line up last weekend which just shows what a strong squad Spurs have. They had a tough midweek clash in the Champions League which may have taken some energy out of the team, but in truth, we think they have enough quality within the squad to beat Burnley even if they were to rest some players.

Burnley have had a really tough season so far and are just one place and two points above the bottom three. They did sink down into the relegation zone before there home win against Brighton last weekend which would have given the squad a much-needed lift. This may be a challenge to big for them, but a good performance will be needed to keep the momentum going into coming weeks.

Tottenham have so much more quality than Burnley and are in much better form. We think that quality will shine through on Saturday afternoon and give Tottenham all three points.

● Correct score prediction: Tottenham 2 – 0 Burnley
● Odds: 7/1

Watford vs Cardiff

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Watford would have been gutted to draw on Monday to Everton, conceding in the 95th minute of the game to have to settle with a point. They can take a lot of positives from the game but as the players showed after the full-time whistle, they were frustrated and annoyed with the late
equaliser which could rare them on to get a good result this weekend.

Cardiff will be full of confidence as it stands after beating fellow strugglers Southampton last weekend. That made it four wins in five home games for the Welsh side. Away from home has been very different and difficult for the team which could prove again this weekend. With the side now 14th and four points from the bottom three, they can now play with a bit more freedom.

Watford have struggled of late, but have still been putting in some good performances, especially at home. With Cardiff’s poor away form, we think they could struggle again.

● Correct score prediction: Watford 2 – 1 Cardiff
● Odds: 12/1

Wolves vs Bournemouth

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

The last week or so has looked much better from Wolves after going six games without a win. They have now beaten Chelsea and Newcastle in a week which would have filled the squad with confidence. It’s also taken them 10 points above the bottom three which is a huge margin
at this stage of the season.

Bournemouth suffered their fourth defeat in five games on Saturday afternoon as they were thumped 4-0 at home to Liverpool. Although they weren’t expected to win the game, they would have been frustrated to get beaten by so many. However, they must dust themselves down
quickly as Wolverhampton is not an easy place to go.

With Wolves coming into this game in the better form and beating two very good sides in a week, we expect them to maintain that kind of performance this weekend which we feel will be enough to beat Bournemouth.

● Correct score prediction: Wolves 1 – 0 Bournemouth
● Odds: 7/1

Fulham vs West Ham

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 15th December

Saturday’s football comes to an end in London as Fulham welcome West Ham to Craven Cottage in the Premier League. Fulham are still rock bottom of the Premier League and come into this one off the back a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United. It’s not as if this side is struggling to score goals, it’s keeping them out the other end which is the worrying thing for Ranieris men.

West Ham have been in fine form and have won three on the bounce coming into this game. They have also scored three goals in each of those matches showing there attacking players are back in form, including Chicarito who has been out of the team for some time.

The Hammers will fancy themselves in this one. It’s tough to see Fulham keeping the inform attacking players at West Ham out this weekend
and with the side bottom and confidence low, we’re not sure how they will respond.

● Correct score prediction: Fulham 1 – 3 West Ham
● Odds: 14/1

Brighton vs Chelsea

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 16th December

Brighton suffered their first defeat in four matches last time out away to Burnley which would have been a frustrating result for the team. They had a very poor first half and were very unlucky not to get anything from the game after there second half performance. But they’ll want
to put that behind them and put on a good show for their fans this weekend.

Chelsea, on the other hand, just beat reigning champions Manchester City at home which was the first time they had lost this season. The thing Sarri will love more than anything from that performance was the defensive performance as they put a stop to all the attacking players
Manchester City have. They will want to follow up on that this weekend.

Brighton will be well up against it this weekend, but they do tend to give the bigger sides a run for there money when playing at home. Chelsea will want nothing short of a win and we see them getting just that.

● Correct score prediction: Brighton 1 – 3 Chelsea
● Odds: 14/1

Southampton vs Arsenal

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 16th December

The Saints have had a shocking start to the season, winning just one game all season. This was enough to see former manager Mark Hughes sacked from his position. Now under a new man, will Southampton finally show what we sore a couple of seasons ago? They need to start performing very soon and picking up points if they are not to get into deep trouble.

Arsenal are on an unreal run of 19 games without defeat which has only been enough to see them clinch 5th spot in the Premier League. They will want nothing short of three points from this game with the form of there opponents. The likes of Aubameyang and Lacezette could have
a field day against the leaky Southampton defence.

One winner for us in this one. Although Saints have a new man in charge, Arsenal are really performing well and should get all three points.

● Correct score prediction: Southampton 1 – 2 Arsenal
● Odds: 9/1

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Kick-off: Week 17, Saturday 16th December, 16:00

What a game we have here to finish of match week 17 of the Premier League season. Liverpool are now the only team yet to be beaten this season which has seen them climb to the top of the league. Mohamed Salah is showing glimpses of his form last season which is causing defences all kind of problems around the country. If they’re at there best, they shouldn’t have any problems this weekend.

Manchester United haven’t had the season they would have wanted up to now. The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba have been underperforming and in recent weeks have been getting dropped from the starting 11. Wherever Jose Mourinho goes, drama always seems to
follow and that certainly hasn’t changed with Manchester United.

What a game this could be! Liverpool have been by far the better team this season and possibly the best team in the league. United have been underperforming but are always able to perform when it matters which could set this one up to be a thriller.

● Correct score prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 Manchester United
● Odds: 11/1
