EPL week 11 predictions

Bournemouth vs Manchester United

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 12:30

This weekend the Premier League gets kicked off down on the south coast at the Vitality Stadium as high-flying Bournemouth take on Manchester United at lunchtime on Saturday afternoon. Bournemouth have been punching above their weight early on this season, currently sat 6th in the league with an impressive 20 points on the board. At this stage, we’re sure Eddie Howe’s men will be desperate to keep pushing on to make sure they hit the 40 points mark as early on in the season as they can. Callum Wilson and Joshua King have started the season very well for the Cherries with nine goals between them already. New signing and youngster David Brooks is also looking like a steal in the attacking midfielder role.

Manchester United started the campaign very slowly which sparked huge rumours that current manager Jose Mourinho was to see the exit door very soon. However, it seems the fortunes are starting to change for the Portuguese coach who is putting together a run of positive results, including a 2-1 win over Everton last weekend. That win sore World Cup winner Paul Pogba and inform Anthony Martial hit the back of the net. Martial had come under a lot of criticism since his move to Manchester but is finally starting to prove those doubters wrong on the pitch. It seems he will be rewarded with a fresh contract in coming months following Luke Shaw’s extension a week or so ago.

With Bournemouth playing with so much confidence and flying high in the top half of the table, they won’t fear the test of Manchester United this weekend. However, United are clearly starting to build confidence and when that happens, it could be dangerous.

Our first this tip of the Premier League week 11 predictions:

  • Correct score prediction: Bournemouth 2-2 Manchester United
  • Odds: 12/1

Cardiff vs Leicester

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 15:00

Cardiff will be looking to get just their second win of the season this weekend as they welcome a Leicester who had some tragic news during the week to the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff have found life hard in the opening ten matches of the Premier League with just one win to their name. Although they have scored more than most of the teams with them near the foot of the table, they have conceded a lot more which is making it hard for them to pick up points on a regular basis. You can see already this is going to be a long season for the Blue Birds but with the fan base they have and a technically organised man in charge, they do have a chance of avoiding the drop if they can win games like this at home. If they don’t, they won’t stand a chance.

It’s difficult to tell how the Leicester City team and coaches will react after the devastating news surrounding the owner’s helicopter crash just last Saturday after the sides 1-1 draw with West Ham United. We think this could be a big motivation for the side to want to go out there and get three points for all the people affected by the incident. Leicester have started the season very average but on there day have looked like they did when they won the league a couple of years ago. Jamie Vardy is the obvious danger for the Foxes and will cause the shaky defence of Cardiff all kind of problems if he is given the correct service.

With the devastating news still raw to everyone surrounding the club, we expect Leicester to go out and give everything in this game and get the three points on the board.

  • Correct score prediction: Cardiff 0 – 2 Leicester
  • Odds: 10/1

Everton vs Brighton

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 15:00

Everton will be looking to bounce back from there 2-1 defeat away at Manchester United this weekend as they welcome in-form Brighton to Goodison at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon. After the amount spent over the last couple of seasons, many were expecting Everton to be up challenging for Europa League spots and possibly even the Champions League. However, up to now, that is not the case and in truth, they still look quite far off the mark to be able to achieve that. However, at home Everton are starting to become very hard to beat with just one defeat in their last eight. The main problem we see for Everton which is letting them down hugely is a natural goalscorer who will go score 20+ a season. As it stands Gylfi Sigurdsson, a midfielder, is topping to goal scoring at the club.

Brighton come into this one off the back of three straight wins which would have filled the team with so much confidence coming into this one. Whenever this side play, it doesn’t seem to be thrilling, but they always get the job done. All of those three wins have been 1-0 which shows they are very tight and organised at the back and once they have a lead, they are very tough to break down. Glenn Murray is the main man for the Seagulls and was able to strike for the 100th time in a blue and white shirt last weekend which makes him the second all-time leading goalscorer for the club, 30 more and he will be in the history books.

A hard one to call this. With Everton being very good at home but Brighton in form and playing with confidence, we can see this one easily ending up a bore draw.

  • Correct score prediction: Everton 0-0 Brighton
  • Odds: 9/1

Newcastle vs Watford

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 15:00

Struggling Newcastle will take on high-flying Watford this weekend in a game which is so important for both clubs, even at this early stage of the season. The start to the season for Newcastle has been nothing short of shocking, they have been unable to win a single game in ten matches, picking up only three points which has left them 19th in the Premier League. It was last weekend against Southampton when many witnessed how poorly they are playing as it stands, they had hardly any of the ball in the opposing half and made possibly one clear-cut chance which they wasted. Southampton would have been devastated not to get three points, Newcastle can count themselves lucky, but against a better side, they would have been hit for a lot of goals.

Watford once again seem to be pushing for those top 7-8 positions and will want to make sure they don’t make any silly mistakes this weekend. They are currently sat 7th in the Premier League, one place above Manchester United and just one point from 6th place Bournemouth. If we’re honest, if Watford turn up and play like they can this weekend, we don’t think they will have much trouble against this Newcastle side. Not only do Watford have two devastating goal scorers in Troy Deeney and Andre Gray, but they are also scoring plenty from midfield with Pereyra bagging five goals already.

It’s hard to see how Newcastle are going to get out of this current slump. It seems as if the players have lost any motivation they may have had before. Watford will see that and will want to take full advantage this weekend.

  • Correct score prediction: Newcastle 0-2 Watford
  • Odds: 14/1

West Ham vs Burnley

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 15:00

Next, we’re off to London where two of the leagues out of form sides go head to head. West Ham United and Burnley were both tipped to achieve big things this season after West Hams huge summer spend and Burnley’s high finish last season. However, that hasn’t been the case so far for either side. West Ham started the season very badly which would have sent shock waves across the Hammers fan base, but have recently started to pick up points here and there.

Coming into this game they do have poor form, but it a lot better than there opponents this weekend so they’ll really be wanting to land all three points, especially being the home side.

Burnley come into this one off the back of two thumpings, losing 5-0 to Manchester City and more recently losing 4-0 on home soil against Chelsea. If we’re honest, we wouldn’t have expected them to pick points up in either of them games anyway, but to concede nine goals in just two games would have been a huge hit to the confidence of the players. Last season they were so organised and disciplined at the back which made them hard to beat, but that seems to have been lacking so far this campaign. With a run of West Ham, Leicester, Newcastle and Crystal Palace coming up, it is very important Burnley start to turn it around before they end up being drawn into a relegation battle.

Both sides will see this as a good chance to get back to winning ways and start climbing back up the table, but as it stands we struggle to see that happening. With both sides lacking in confidence, we can’t see this being a very entertaining match. In fact, we’re going for a bore draw.

  • Correct score prediction: West Ham United 0-0 Burnley
  • Odds: 8/1

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 17:30

What a game we have on Saturday evening as unbeaten Liverpool travel to inform Arsenal in the Premier League. Arsenal come into this game having won eleven in a row up until last weekend as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace. Arsenal look a transformed side already since the departure of Arsene Wenger and really look as if they could compete for a top-four spot come the end of the season, which many people, even Arsenal fans, wouldn’t have expected. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been living up to his hype so far this season with an outstanding seven goals. This is the toughest test they have faced during there winning run and will have to defend a lot better than they have if they are going to stop the front three of Liverpool.

Talking about the Liverpool front line, they will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing the Arsenal defence who have been leaking goals. Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah have been causing all sorts of problems for opponents for the last couple of seasons, not only in the Premier League but in the European competitions as well. Not only are they still prominent going forward, but they are also improving week by week at the back. Since the signing of Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton, Liverpool have looked a much more organised side and the stats back that up with the side conceding just four goals in the opening ten matches.

This is going to be one to watch and could prove important to both sides come the end of the season. Arsenal will fancy themselves with current form, but we can’t see them keeping the front three of Liverpool quite. We think this one is going to be a goal-fest, but going in the favour of the away team.

  • Correct score prediction: Arsenal 2 – 3 Liverpool
  • Odds: 22/1

Wolverhampton vs Tottenham

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 3rd November, 19:45

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from there home defeat to Manchester City on Monday night as they travel to Birmingham to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves have started the season very well, much better than Fulham and Cardiff who were promoted to the Premier League with them at the end of last season. However, the last couple of games haven’t gone to plan for Wolves with back to back defeats in the hands of Watford and Brighton. They will be hoping to bounce back from that recent blip this weekend, but with Tottenham in town, it could be a long and tough Saturday night shift for the side.

Tottenham suffered defeat on Monday as reigning champions Manchester City bagged all three points on a damaged Wembley pitch. It must be tough for Spurs and especially the fans to still not be in there brand new state of the art stadium but in all honesty, this shouldn’t affect their performance on the pitch as maybe it has. Tottenham star man Harry Kane has had a slow start to the season for his standards with five goals to his name. He’ll be hoping to increase that tally this weekend but as Wolves have proven plenty of times already, they are not an easy team to beat and will make it hard for Spurs to break them down. Not even Manchester City were able to take all three points away for Mollineux.

We can see this one being an entertaining encounter between two very organised outfits. How good would it be to have a goal fest to finish of the Premier League on Saturday? Well, that’s what we’re thinking!

  • Correct score prediction: Wolves 2 – 2 Tottenham
  • Odds: 14/1

Manchester City vs Southampton

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 4th November, 15:00

Manchester City will be looking to do what Manchester City do best this weekend and extend their unbeaten run to eleven games as The Saints visit the Etihad. Last season it took a last minute Raheem Sterling goal to see off this Southampton side, but something’s telling me this weekend they won’t have as much of a problem. The attacking and defensive qualities this team have are a bit of a joke. From Ederson in goal, Stones and Laporte in defence, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva in midfield and Aguero upfront, they have an outstanding spine to send shivers down any opponents back. The win away to Tottenham last time out would have given those City players even more of a lift and will make the prospect for Southampton a daunting one.

After a progressive six or seven years for Southampton, the last couple of years have been pretty disappointing with the club narrowly avoiding relegation last season and looking as if they could be down there again at the end of this. Danny Ings has brought a bit of a lift to the south coast since his loan move from Liverpool, but the side are still struggling to score goals which is a worrying side. Last time out Southampton had a great chance to get three points on the board against a very poor Newcastle side and had a lot of the ball, many chances but were still unable to hit the back of the net which meant they were only able to pick up a point. Although it’s early on in the season, things still aren’t looking very Brighton for the Saints.

No brainer in this one, Manchester City are and will be too good for Southampton on Sunday and should pick up all three points very comfortably.

  • Correct score prediction: Wolves 2 – 2 Tottenham
  • Odds: 14/1

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 4th November, 16:00

Another side who are unbeaten this season and will be looking to extend that run is Chelsea who welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Chelsea look a refreshed and recharged side since appointing Maurizio Sarri as head coach. With seven wins and three draws already on the board, Chelsea have sent out a firm statement that they are going to be up there challenging for the title come the end of the season. Eden Hazard has started the season very well, once again showing the Premier League and everyone else around the world what a top footballer he is. It seems the speculation linking him to Real Madrid in the summer has improved him having already scored seven goals in nine Premier League games.

Crystal Palace come into this one having ended Arsenals eleven game winning streak last weekend. This would have given the side a bit of confidence coming into this one, but they will need more than just that if they are to even scare Chelsea this weekend. Wilfried Zaha was once again in the headlines after his apparent dive to win Crystal Palace a late penalty which eventually gave them a point. Crystal Palace lost there last three games before the draw last weekend and have lost three out of there last four away from home. On paper, this looks an impossible task for Crystal Palace, but they are one of those sides that can turn up and produce an outstanding performance.

Although Palace are capable of a big performance, even if they do produce it this weekend we can’t see it being good enough. Chelsea are just playing to well this season to lose a game like this.

  • Correct score prediction: Chelsea 3 – 0 Crystal Palace
  • Odds: 8/1

Huddersfield vs Fulham

Kick-off: Week 11, Saturday 5th November, 20:00

A massive game at the bottom of the Premier League rounds of game week 11 as Huddersfield face Fulham at The John Smiths Stadium. Huddersfield currently find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League with just three points on the board and no wins to there name. As it stands, it looks as if it is going to be a very long season for the club who were backed a lot to face the drop before a ball was kicked. It’s hard to pinpoint where this side are struggling the most. Firstly, they have been able to score just four goals and secondly, they have conceded a massive twenty-one. With those two stats in place, you can see why they are finding it so hard to pick up points regularly. However, they must put that behind them this weekend and try to get nothing short of three points in this crucial encounter.

Fulham have also been struggling to pick up many points, but their problems are a lot clearer. It’s not scoring goals which is holding them back, it’s keeping them out the other end which is really hurting the club. They have conceded twenty-eight goals already which is the most in the league at this stage. It is important they put a change to that as soon as possible if they are to stay in the league come the end of the season. Fulham come into this game off the back of a four-game losing streak, conceding fifteen goals. If they can put a stop to that, they have a chance in games with Serbian Alexander Mitrovic a huge threat upfront.

If we’re honest, we can’t see this one being a Monday Night Football classic, but for both of these sides, it could prove the difference between Premier League and Championship football next season.

  • Correct score prediction: Huddersfield 2 – 2 Fulham
  • Odds: 14/1
