Premier league predictions

Crystal Palace v Brighton

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 12:30

After last Sunday being full of derbys, we are opening game week 30 with another as Brighton make the short trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Crystal Palace have found some inspired form over recent weeks with three wins in five and losing just once in that time. The 3-1 away win over Burnley last weekend was enough to take them eight points clear of the drop which is a huge confidence boost.

Brighton have had an up and down season up till now and with a poor few months, they will now be worried about being dragged into a relegation scrap with just a five-point gap between them and Cardiff down in 18th. A win is needed here to keep the pressure off them, but with the away form they have had this season, it’s very hard to see them getting anything from this one.

With Crystal Palace currently on a high and being the home side, we can only see one winner in this one. Wilfried Zaha has also looked sharper of late which is a worry for opponents.

  • Correct score prediction: Crystal Palace 2 – 0 Brighton
  • Odds: 10/1

Cardiff v West Ham

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 15:00

Cardiff have now lost three games in a row, conceding a massive ten goals in that time. They have hit a blip at the wrong part of the season which has seen them drop down into the bottom three and are now 2 points from safety. Being the home side, they will know they have to try and push for all three points in this one but with a huge member of there back four being injured last weekend, they could struggle yet again.

West Ham’s players and management team have all come out saying that 7th place and a potential spot in the Europa League is still on the radar for the side which makes it obvious that they won’t be going easy in this one. With the quality this side have, they should win this game and win it well if they are at there best.

The difference between the two squads on paper is very noticeable and a difference we think is going to be more than enough for the Hammers to take home all three points.

  • Correct score prediction: Cardiff 1 – 3 West Ham
  • Odds: 16/1

Huddersfield v Bournemouth

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 15:00

Huddersfield really do look as if they will be playing Championship football again next season having slipped 13 points adrift of Southampton in 17th which looks as if it could be a task too big for them to close with just a couple of handful of games to go. They have shown some fight in recent weeks but even they will be knowing it’s only to prepare for next season.

Bournemouth have been in awful form of late which has seen sides like Crystal Palace, Newcastle and co catch them up which could make it look a poor season for the club after a bright start. Although relegation looks unlikely, a few more points on the board wouldn’t go amiss.

With the form Bournemouth are in, it’s hard to see them taking maximum points from this one. Yes, Huddersfield haven’t been great, but they have shown us enough to think they can get a point this weekend.

  • Correct score prediction: Huddersfield 0 – 0 Bournemouth
  • Odds: 8/1

Leicester v Fulham

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 15:00

Leicester would have been left devastated after conceding a stoppage-time goal to lose the game to Watford last weekend. Jamie Vardy scored Leicesters goal in the match which was the first under new boss Brendan Rogers but went off with about 10 minutes to go which what looked like an injury. If Jamie is out in this one, they could have a tough afternoon.

Fulham are starting to look a bit like Huddersfield, down and out, but do have a better chance if they can start to put a run of positive results together. They will see this as a game they can go and get something from but with the form this side have shown on the road so far this season, we find that very hard to believe and think this could be another bad afternoon for the club.

Although Leicester suffered a set back last time out after losing in the last minute to Watford, we think they could get there first win under the new boss in this one, even if Jamie Vardy is sidelined.

  • Correct score prediction: Leicester 3 – 0 Fulham
  • Odds: 14/1

Newcastle v Everton

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 15:00

Newcastle suffered their first defeat in four on the weekend as they travelled down to London to take on West Ham. It was the first game in a while they didn’t really look at it and that showed in the final score. Although Toon are in a good position and are 6 points clear of the bottom three, nothing should be taken for granted and another few wins are needed.

Everton were on an awful run of form up until a couple of weeks ago when they were able to smash Cardiff away from home before taking precious points away from Liverpool in a 0-0 draw in the final Merseyside Derby of the season. There’s no doubt this Everton side have a great squad who can do well in seasons to come but consistency is costing them.

We can see this being a very close game up North with two inform sides going head to head. With Everton looking as if they are picking up some confidence, they could get some more points again here.

  • Correct score prediction: Newcastle 1 – 1 Everton
  • Odds: 7/1

Southampton v Tottenham

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 15:00

Southampton would have been left frustrated and devastated after conceding late on at Old Trafford to go home with nothing after scoring two spectacular goals. That point would have meant so much to the side who are just two points above the bottom three but a lot of confidence can be taken from that game going into this one.

Spurs have hit a bit of a blip of late with no win in three and two defeats in that time. This has put there 3rd place look under pressure with them now just three points above Manchester United and potentially only two above Chelsea if they win their game in hand. Every point is so crucial for this side now going into this tough game on the south coast.

Although Southampton are down near the bottom of the table, they do tend to make it hard for sides down at St Mary’s, although the last season has been a big difference. But the performance away to United would have filled them with confidence which should have it a tough afternoon for Tottenham.

  • Correct score prediction: Southampton 1 – 1 Tottenham
  • Odds: 10/1

Manchester City v Watford

Kick-off: Week 30, Saturday 9th March, 17:30

Manchester City would have been given a huge lift last Sunday as Liverpool failed to beat Everton which put the title back in the hands of the reigning champions who lead Liverpool by a point now. Although they only beat Bournemouth 1-0 last time out, the Cherries did not register a single shot on goal in the game which shows how well Manchester City played.

Watford will not make this an easy game for Manchester City with the Hornets chasing 7th place which could be enough to get them into the Europa League next season. They are currently level on points with Wolves, only trailing them on goal difference in the race so will be desperate to cause an upset this weekend to keep their European dream alive.

Manchester City will know if they win every game from now until the end of the season, they will retain the Premier League title and we think they will get off to a good start in this one.

  • Correct score prediction: Manchester City 2 – 0 Watford
  • Odds: 9/1

Liverpool v Burnley

Kick-off: Week 30, Sunday 10th March, 12:00

Liverpool have now drawn five of there last seven games which has handed the advantage to Manchester City against all the odds. They will be devastated to have thrown their long lead away at this point but will also know they are still well in the competition and will be ready to pounce on any mistakes City may make between now and the end of the season.

Burnley will still know there is a long way to go this season with the side just five points above Cardiff in the relegation zone. Points are still needed for the Clarets and although they may know they won’t come this weekend, they need to put on a positive display to make sure they take some confidence into this upcoming fixtures.

Liverpool will be bitter after drawing 0-0 with Everton last weekend and allowing Manchester City to go back top which we think they will react well to.

  • Correct score prediction: Liverpool 3 – 1 Burnley
  • Odds: 20/1

Chelsea v Wolves

Kick-off: Week 30, Sunday 10th March, 14:05

The next one sees Wolverhampton Wanderers travel down to London to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It’s been an up and down season for Sarri at Chelsea but with the season coming to an end, they still have an amazing chance of finishing top four which will be the main target and one you’d think they need to get for Sarri to keep his job.

Wolves are currently in 7th position and dreaming of European football next season which could be remarkable considering the side were only promoted to the Premier League last season. The team spirit is immense at the club and the football they have been playing is very attractive to watch and is a style which makes it very hard for opponents to stop them. They could cause Chelsea a few problems in this one.

Both sides need maximum points in this game for very different reasons and with that in mind, we can see this one being a very entertaining game of football. We think this could be a very high scoring match.

  • Correct score prediction: Chelsea 3 – 3 Wolves
  • Odds: 33/1

Arsenal v Manchester United

Kick-off: Week 30, Sunday 10th March, 16:30

Match week 30 comes to an end in a thrilling encounter between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates. This game is huge for both teams this season and could be the difference between finishing in the top four or not. Both teams come into this one in fantastic form with Arsenal winning three of there last four and unlucky not to have won last time out in a draw with rivals Tottenham.

Manchester City were able to get a last gasp winner at home to Southampton on the weekend which would have filled them with confidence and the form of Lukaku would have got defences all around the Premier League worried. Not only him, but Rashford, Pogba and co are also all starting to get back to there best which is great news for the club.

When these two met in the FA Cup not too long ago, Manchester United ran the game at the Emirates and progressed to the next round. Arsenal will need to be a lot better in this one if they are to stop the deadly attack of Manchester United but they to have quality going forward for Aubameyang and Lacazette in good form.

  • Correct score prediction: Arsenal 1 – 2 Manchester United
  • Odds: 16/1
