Fulham vs Sheffield Wednesday
Date and time: September 23rd, 7pm
Location: Craven Cottage
Fulham will be hoping to avoid an upset when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night. They have lost their first two games in the Premier League, while the Owls have cut their 12-point deduction in the Championship to eight with a win and a draw. Garry Monk’s men have impressed and we think they are well placed to win this game, adding great value to our acca.
Result: Sheffield Wednesday win 10/3 @ Bet365
Chelsea vs Barnsley
Date and time:Â September 23rd, 7:45pm
Location: Stamford Bridge
Chelsea’s extra squad depth makes them an ideal side to go far in the Carabao Cup this season. Frank Lampard will likely ring the changes, offering the likes of Tammy Abraham the chance to shine here. Whatever team they put out, they should be one of the bankers on Wednesday’s bill. We think they’ll come through this one fairly easily against a Barnsley side who are winless in two Championship games so far this season.
Result: Chelsea win 1/6 @ Bet365
Fleetwood Town vs Everton
Date and time: September 23rd, 7:45pm
Location: Highbury Stadium
Joey Barton has never hidden the fact that he supports Everton, and this will be the biggest test of his career to date as he welcomes Carlo Ancelotti to Highbury. It is a potential banana skin for the Toffees, given that Fleetwood have won all three home games this season, but even with considerable changes, they should have enough to come through.
Result: Everton win 2/5 @ Bet365
Leicester City vs Arsenal
Date and time: September 23rd, 7:45pm
Location: King Power Stadium
Leicester meet Arsenal in probably the tie of the round on Wednesday. Mikel Arteta will be looking to add the Carabao Cup to his FA Cup win last season, while Brendan Rodgers’ men reached the semi finals and will want to go a step further. Both sides have made perfect starts to the Premier League season, with the goals flowing. But Arsenal look a little more defensively solid, and we think they’ll edge this one.
Result: Arsenal win 6/4 @ Bet365
Morecambe vs Newcastle United
Date and time: September 23rd, 7:45pm
Location: Mazuma Stadium
This one could be the biggest on this five-fold. Newcastle are overwhelming favourites, but they were lucky to get past Blackburn Rovers in the last round before being outclassed by Brighton at the weekend. They should prove too strong, but don’t be shocked if Steve Bruce’s men come unstuck. Morecambe draw no bet at 10/1 with Bet365 as a stand-alone bet cannot be ignored.
Result: Newcastle win 2/7 @ Bet365
