Liverpool vs Manchester City
It’s that time of the year again where the winners of the FA Cup take on the Champions of England. Just a week before the Premier League campaign kicks off, both make a bid to win the Community Shield and get some silverware in the bag. With Manchester City winning both the Premier League and FA Cup, the opponents will be Liverpool who finished second in the league.
The teams in the final
Liverpool will feel this opportunity is deserved after finishing just on point behind Manchester City last season with a massive 97 points on the board. Liverpool will be known as the Kings of Europe until next May after beating Tottenham in the Champions League final.
Manchester City won the Community Sheild last season, along with the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. This made it highly successful season for Pep Guardiola’s men. They will be looking to start as they mean to go on with a win this weekend and regaining the trophy.
How we think the final to pan out
This is going to be a huge final between two sides who lit up the Premier League last season. The amount of quality on show is sickening and should shape this up to be a modern-day classic. Although Mane is a doubt for this one after he is only just returning having played in the African Cup Of Nations. Liverpool will still have plenty of quality on the pitch with Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and many more raring to go.
Manchester City look as if they have got most of there side fit and ready for this one. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and co have looked very sharp during pre-season and look as if they will put on a show for us once again now only in this game, but throughout the season.
Manchester City go into this one as the favourites and we agree with that. They have looked the better in pre-season and will have more of there squad available than Liverpool. Pep Guardiola has a very good record in finals and will want to make sure his players make no mistakes and win the Community Shield for the second year in a row.
Our winner tip: Manchester City to win – 1/1
We can see plenty of goals being scored in this one. You can be sure one man is going to be involved: Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has been tearing apart teams in England for many years now and we can really see him causing Liverpool trouble once again in this one.
Goalscorer tip: Sergio Aguero to score first – 4/1
With both sides full of attacking quality, we can certainly see goals in this one. With that in mind, we have come together with our correct score prediction tip.
Our tips is Liverpool 1 – 3 Manchester City – 14/1
