Barcelona vs Valencia

After consecutive away games in Seville and in Paris, Luis Enrique’s team return to Camp Nou for the third of a trio of testing fixtures in just under seven days. Luis Suarez and Neymar rampaged through PSG on Wednesday night and Barcelona are now all but certain to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League. Barça coach Luis Enrique knows the importance of Saturday’s league clash against Valencia and made a plea for a packed Camp Nou to help his side in the league clash with Valencia. The visitors, who lie in 4th place in the table, are enjoying a remarkable season and will be no pushovers on Saturday afternoon. Los Che are unbeaten in their last ten games and will fancy their chances at the Nou Camp. With the home side having one eye on Tuesday’s crunch second leg against PSG, I feel Valencia may sneak a draw here.

Real Madrid vs Malaga

In a game where Real Madrid cannot afford to drop points, Malaga’s record at the Bernabeu will give them heart that they can claim the victory they so badly need in the race to be crowned champions of Spain. The Andalusians have never won at Madrid’s stadium losing 11 and drawing two of their visits to the Bernabeu. However, they have pulled off the shock of the season thus far beating Barcelona 0-1 at the Nou Camp, a scoreline which will undoubtedly give them confidence ahead of their trip to the Bernabeu. Despite this, I feel Real simply have too much quality in their ranks and will edge this one to keep the pressure on Barca at the summit.

Nice vs PSG

It has been a mixed week for Paris Saint-Germain. Success in the Coupe de la Ligue final over Bastia was followed up by defeat in the Champions League to FC Barcelona. The French champions return to league duty this weekend knowing that only a win would see them reclaim top spot in Ligue 1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out of the tie through suspension, whilst skipper Thiago Silva is almost certain to miss out through injury. In addition to these star names, Laurent Blanc has also suggested that Thiago Motta, Marco Verratti and David Luiz may also be absent. Although the visitors will be missing several key players I’m backing to come away with all three points.
