Paraguay Vs Jamaica
Paraguay showed superb fighting spirit to bounce back from two goals down to hold Copa America Argentina favorites to a draw. This might prove to be a vital point in his sides bid for qualification and coach Ramon Diaz’s need to ensure his men win all three over minnows Jamaica. Jamaica are probably the weakest team in this competition but will be pleased with their organised performance against South American powerhouse Uruguay, losing out to a solitary second half strike. I predict a win for Paraguay to leave just an enticing encounter with Uruguay to see who qualifies to the quarter finals.
Argentina Vs Uruguay
Argentina will be kicking themselves after letting a two goal lead slip through their fingers after a 90th minute strike and have now made life difficult for themselves. Uruguay were far from spectacular in their 1-0 win over a weak Jamaica side and will need to be completely focused when they face this star-studed Argentinian side. I predict a great game of football with the Albiceleste coming out on top!
Brazil Vs Colombia
Brazil stuttered to a 2-1 win in their opening game over Peru thanks to a late Douglas Costs strike sparing the Selecao’s blushes. Colombia were downed by an arguably weaker Venezuela side and now risk not qualifying at all for the latter stages, which will undoubtedly be a disaster for experienced tactician Pekerman’s credentials. I am backing a tight game on Thursday, but I predict Dunga’s men will have just enough to pip this.
Peru Vs Venezuela
Peru were denied a point by a last minute goal from Douglas Costa in their opening Copa America fixture. The Peruvians put up great resistance and almost shared the spoils but could not contain Brazil until the final whistle. Still, Peru will take great encouragement from their opening fixture and will hope to build upon that result. Venezuela got their Tournament up and running with an excellent win over more fancied opposition in Columbia. Falcao was kept at bay and a single strike from Rondon was enough to put Venezuela in a great position in Group C.
Mexico Vs Ecuador
Mexico played out a thrilling 3-3 draw when they faced Chile on Monday evening. The Mexicans have now drawn both of their two games and only a win gives them any chance of progressing to the Quarter Finals. Having suffered two consecutive defeats Ecuador will not reach the Knock Out stages of the Copa America. After trailing Bolivia 0-3 the Ecuadorians staged an impressive come-back but were unable to find an equalising goal late on. Mexico expected to pick up three points here.
Chile Vs Bolivia
Chile sit to of Copa America Group C heading into their final Group game against Bolivia. Both sides have picked up four points from their opening two fixtures but only a win can guarantee a place in the Knock Out Stages. Chile have had no problem scoring goals but must tighten things up defensively. Bolivia took a commanding 3-0 lead against Ecuador before almost throwing their lead away. Chile to secure their ticket to the Quarter Finals with a victory here.
