Torino vs Inter
Tornio were comfortably beaten on their travels to the Olimpico, losing 3-1 to a stronger Lazio side. Inter were on fire at the San Siro on Sunday afternoon as they downed a disorganised Atalanta 7-1 to the delight of the home crowd. Considering the attacking prowess of both sides I am backing an exciting score draw.
Milan vs Genoa
Despite being second best on the night Milan were very close to snatching a point at the Juventus stadium only for the home side to be awarded a very late penalty in the most controversial of circumstances as Montella’s side left empty handed and frustrated. Genoa fans were also left licking their wounds last weekend after losing out to local rivals Sampdoria to the dismay of their home crowd. Home win expected.
Empoli vs Napoli
Empoli were pummelled 4-0 on their travels to Chievo as the side from Florence continue to struggle and are fortunate to still be seven points clear of the bottom three. As expected Napoli comfortably saw off the likes of Crotone at he San Paolo on Sunday afternoon to remain two points behind second place Roma.
Atalanta vs Pescara
This is without a doubt Atalanta’s best season for over a decade as they currently sit in sixth place and you would be forgiven in thinking they are among the bottom three on Sunday as they were completely thorn to shreds by a superb Inter squad, who were 5-0 up within the opening 25 minutes. Pescara lost their 20th game of the season to remain in last place and will most likely be the first side in the league to be mathematically relegated in a few weeks. Gasperini’s men to bounce back.
Bologna vs Chievo
Bologna rode their luck and can thank the sharpness of front man Destro for finding the net and securing all three points for his side in Sassuolo. Chievo made easy work of strugglers Empoli to remain in 11th place. I am backing a score draw.
Cagliari vs Lazio
After losing 1-5 to Inter two weeks ago Cagliari put on a much more spirited display and were extremely unfortunate to lose in Florence to a 92nd minute goal. Lazio outplayed Torino in Rome to move up to 4th in the Serie A standings. I reckon the home side can hold out for a draw.
Crotone vs Fiorentina
Crotone battled for their lives but were only able to keep a rampant Napoli side at bay for thirty minutes before the home side knocked three past them. Fiorentina huffed and puffed at the Cagliari goal for 90 minutes before finally breaking through in extra time to secure three vital points and keep their hopes of Europa League football alive. Away win expected.
Sampdoria vs Juventus
Sampdoria registered a historic away win over their City rivals to gift their supporters with local bragging rights for atleast the next six months. Juve moved one step closer to their sixth consecutive Scudetto as they beat old rivals Milan in controversial circumstances. I reckon Allegri’s men can maintain their winning. .
Udinese vs Palermo
Udinese made easy work of bottom side Pescara, winning 1-3 on their travels, and will hope for a similar outcome against 18th place Palermo who lost to Roma on Sunday evening in Sicily.
Roma vs Sassuolo
Roma were on form last Sunday as they comfortably knocked three past a struggling Palermo side to remain in second place. Sassuolo failed to take their chances and were beaten by Bologna in what was a rather drab affair. Comfortable home win expected.
Copa Del Rey
The first leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-finals kick off later today and bet365 will be offering Live Streaming across both games. Tonight sees Atletico Madrid welcome defending champions Barcelona in a game which is set to see goals from both sides – Atletico have scored a total of 19 goals in all games from their Copa Del Rey campaign whilst Barcelona have scored 18 in theirs. With Barca strongest at home, winning all of their last 7 home games in all competitions, the Madrid side will be hoping to catch them on a poor away day and take advantage of being on home soil, where they’ve won 4 of their last 5 fixtures. Whichever way this game goes its likely to be one you don’t want to miss! sign up HERE today!
Tomorrow night features the start of the Betway Premier League Darts, this week in Newcastle. All eyes will no doubt be on defending champion Michael van Gerwen who plays against last year’s semi-finalist Gary Anderson in a repeat of last month’s World Championship Final. Van Gerwen triumphed 7-3 on that occasion with an incredible three-dart average of 107.79, and he’s currently 8/15 favourite to retain his Premier League crown this year. Phil Taylor, who came a close second in the Premier League table last year before being outclassed 11-3 in the final by MVG, should have a slightly easier opening game when he faces Dave Chisnall who finished the last Premier League season on just 3 points overall – sign up HERE today!
Over the weekend we see a host of La Liga and Bundesliga games where top of the table Bayern Munich welcome FC Schalke in a game that looks to end only one way. Meanwhile, current second place Leipzig face Borussia Dortmund away, with just 3 points separating them from Bayern the away side will be looking to do all they can in a game which could impact their final league position – sign up HERE today!

Bologna vs Napoli
Bologna ended the game in extremely frustrating circumstances after they had two men sent off and also conceded a late goal to leave Sardinia with a point. Napoli huffed and puffed but couldn’t get the better of a stubborn Palermo side as Sarri’s men lost further points on league leaders Juve. I predict an away win.
Milan vs Sampdoria
Despite taking an early lead Milan’s youthful squad were punished for their mistakes and inefficiency in front of goal and lost 2-1 in Udine. Sampdoria were superb as they came from behind to beat Roma 3-2 in what was a great game of football. I reckon Montella’s men will get back to winning ways on Sunday.
Atalanta vs Cagliari
Both these sides had to fight back and earn a vital point in their respective games as the home side look to qualify for European football next season while the visitors target a mid-table finish. I predict a home win.
Empoli vs Torino
Empoli are eight points clear from the bottom three however still have a lot of work to do should they intend to avoid a relegation scrap come May. Torino fought hard and played out a 1-1 draw with Atalanta. I am backing another draw.
Genoa vs Sassuolo
Genoa showed some much needed determination and grit as they twice came from behind to hold Fiorentina to a 3-3 draw in what was a action packed encounter. Sassuolo were swept aside by a far superior Juve as they remained 16th in the standings after an extremely disappointing season for Di Francesco’s men. I predict a home win.
Pescara vs Lazio
Bottom side Pescara have had a torrid time in the Serie A, winning just one game to date and having collected just nine points. Lazio failed to make the most of their chances and paid the ultimate price as Chievo struck late at the Olimpico. This will be a close encounter but I reckon the visitors can get back to winning ways.
Palermo vs Crotone
Palermo secured a rare point on their Sunday evening trip to Naples while Crotone were finally awarded for their spirited performance after they beat fellow strugglers Empoli 4-1. This is a do-or-die for both sides but I reckon the game will end in a stalemate.
Juventus vs Inter
Juventus maintained their march towards their sixth consecutive Scudetto after a solid 0-2 win in Sassuolo while Inter won their seventh straight Serie A encounter to move up to fourth in the standings. I expect an extremely exciting game in Turin between two of Italy’s most in form sides but the visitor’s should just pip this.
Roma vs Fiorentina
Roma’s superb run of form came to an abrupt end on Sunday afternoon after they threw away their lead and lost 3-2 in Sampdoria. Fiorentina were also guilty of missing out last weekend as they allowed Genoa back into the game on two occasions as the game ended 3-3. Roma should have enough to win this.
This week bet365 customers can watch the culmination of the first tennis major of the year, with the Australian Open at the semi-final stage. With the top 3 seeds all exiting the Men’s tournament there could be a first Australian Open title in 7 years for Roger Federer, or in 8 years for Rafael Nadal. Both players face stern tests in their semi-finals though, against Stan Wawrinka and Grigor Dimitrov respectively. In the Women’s tournament sisters Serena and Venus Williams will be desperate to make it a family affair in the final but standing in their way are Coco Vandeweghe and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni. The Williams sisters met each other in the final back in 2003, with Serena taking the honours in a closely-contested match, winning 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. sign up HERE today!
African Cup of Nations
Meanwhile, the African Cup of Nations is set to enter the knockout stages after the final games of the group stage tonight. Egypt face Ghana tonight with both knowing that a draw will be enough to secure their aims; a point for Ghana will ensure they finish top of the group and for Egypt it will be enough to secure their place in the Quarter Finals at the expense of Mali. The first Quarter Final is on Saturday afternoon, and the standout tie of the round is undoubtedly Senegal v Cameroon later that day. Sadio Mané has scored in both matches he’s played in the tournament so far, and is looking to fire the new tournament favourites to glory – sign up HERE today!
League Cup and European Football
Back in England his club mates also have their eyes on a trophy, with their EFL Cup Semi Final Second Leg taking place tonight. They’re a goal down to Southampton from the first leg but with the backing of the Anfield faithful they’ll be confident of getting the result that will secure their place at Wembley next month. The winners of tonight’s tie will find out tomorrow who they face in the final, with Manchester United overwhelming favourites to get there having triumphed 2-0 against Hull in the first leg of the other semi.
Over in Spain the big three, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, are all looking to join Deportivo Alavés in the Copa Del Rey Semi Finals. Atlético won their first leg away at Eibar 3-0, so should be safely through after tonight’s return leg. Barcelona also won away, 1-0 against Sociedad, so knowing that a draw will be enough tomorrow at home should also ensure comfortable qualification. Real are in a spot of bother though, having succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home to Celta Vigo. Tonight’s game at Balaídos should therefore be an interesting watch – sign up HERE today!

Copa Del Rey
In the Copa Del Rey last night, Barcelona surprisingly suffered a defeat again Athletic Club Bilbao in the first leg of their last-16 Copa Del Rey tie. Despite having played a full strength squad, that wasn’t enough, even after Athletic Club Bilbao were shown 2 red cards and were therefore reduced to 9 men. All eyes will be on Barcelona in the second leg next week to see if they can come from behind to make it to the quarterfinal whilst they also need to be concerned about their second away trip of the week to Villereal, as they lie in second place in the La Liga table, just 3 points behind fierce rivals Real Madrid. No doubt Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid team will be focused on their league tie against Granada on Saturday as they look to cement their position in the table ahead of their trip to Sevilla for in the cup. – sign up HERE today!
Over in Italy, Juventus lie 4 points clear in the Serie A table, but play twice in 4 days as they host Bologna in the league on Sunday and then welcome Atalanta to the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday for a Coppa Italia tie. Second-placed Roma face a very winnable league fixture away to Genoa which could put pressure on Allegri and his men ahead of the next round of fixtures. – sign up HERE today!
